ghost Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I've caught bass on Spook type lures before. But this it the 1st year that It has been my go to lure. Started over the summer using a Zara Spook Puppy in chrome/black and catching quite a few small bass. Then a month ago at a park lake, caught a bass on a a regular sized Spook. Agressive too, bass hit the lure, missed the lure and came back and hit it again. Then today, using a clear Spook JR, caught a nice sized bass. That was the coolest one caught on a Spook. I worked the lure and saw a blowup, bass missed the lure. I stopped it and did 3 turns of the lure and a bigger blowup with bass hooked. It started peeling line, I'm thinking good bass. I was not disappointed, landed that bass with it's mate trailing behind. So cool seeing a topwater bite...now if I can just even get an attention from a bass on either the 130 or 90 Whooper Plopper... 8 Quote
crypt Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 spooks are the coolest baits to use. sometimes they will just suck it under, other times they crash the hell out of it. 3 Quote

Attila Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Ya, nothing beats walking the dog to entice a big bass to strike. Great job! 1 Quote
MediocreAngler Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 One of my favorite ways to catch them. I generally have get the most bites/blowups on the one knocker spooks or vixens. 1 Quote

I just love my KVD Sexy Dawg, favorite lure, but I saw the blow ups on the Whopper Plopper and ordered some when they were on sale at Dicks recently. Quote
NEBasser101 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I love to fish spook type lures. Have you ever tried any size or series of a Lucky Craft Sammy? I LOVE those Quote
ghost Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 I have a couple LC Sammys and knockoffs. I have to start using those again. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted October 27, 2016 Super User Posted October 27, 2016 Tried Jitter bug jr. spook and whopper plopper today at local pond. Got a bite on jitter bugs but missed it, finally land first fish with whopper plopper 90. End the day with another dink on dropshot Z-man TRD. My wrist got so d**n tired with walking that spook after 15-20 mins. Gotta wait until my lefty reel come in to try spook again. 1 Quote
