Previous topic about legality or illegality of bass transportation made me laugh.

How you will punish the birds which make eggs transportation for hundreds or thousands years? Therefore the bass, like lot of another species so vastly spread in the isolated waters around the world. Are they braking any stupid law? Is somebody could reasonable explain why the live fish transportation is illegal?

Very simply...government regulation. It governs our entire lives. You wake up on a mattress that was made with government regulations in mind. You get in your car that is licensed and inspected due to government regulations. You go to your job that involves some form of government regulations (I guarantee it). You come home and turn on the tv and everything on it is allowed only by the grace of....you guessed it, government regulations. There is your answer and you probably don't like it anymore than most. Have a nice day :D if the government allows it.

If you had to fish in a lake with Eurasion Water Milfoil, Zebra Mussels, Quagga Mussels, Spiny Water Fleas, Asian Carp, or one of the many other ANS plants or animals, you might appreciate the "stupid laws".

It's not so much the bass they're worried about being transported. There's no way to move a bass without moving some water with it, along with anything in that water, a lot things you won't be able to see without a microscope.

Is it possible for birds (or various other animals), to transport the same creatures? Sure. The difference is that's Nature doing what it's done long before man walked on this earth.

To avoid stupid people from introducing foreign species into places where they are going to do more harm than good, for example snakeheads.

Fresh water bass, all species, never made west of the Rocky Mountain range without man transporting the fish. The more mobile man gets the greater the danger or transporting / transplanting non native fish and aquatic plant species illegally. Fresh water bass are a non native fish to California and transporting any live game fish, including bass is illegal here without a permit.

Birds don't transplant bass by carrying eggs stuck to their feet or feathers, that is another urban myth.

How you know that? How you could explain presence of same kind of fish in the isolated waters around the world muuuch befoooore appearance of people?

Its been proven that eggs do not stick to birds and do not survive being transported to a different lake/pond, like it or not that's a fact.  You really can't explain the presence of fish in waters that humans haven't had the ability or access to transport fish into, not without believing that at one point there was a massive influx of water which distributed fish to different areas, including secluded lakes.

The eggs to feathers thing has been studied enough to know that the likelihood of this happening is extremely small . That said, there are other means of transport that have been documented that make more sense, such as actual fish being dropped or regurgitated alive by fish eating birds, as well as fish being transported to other waters via typhoon/hurricane type events. Others posting above have touched on the reasons for not allowing live transport of certain species of fish.

Name 1 fresh water fish specie that is common around the world. If water ways are not directly connected by streams, rivers or floods the fish stay isolated, with a few rare exceptions.

I don't know if this is your belief like storks deliver babies or you are just trying to create a debate.

The invasive species laws actually help a lot more than one could think. They make it illegal, because people create their own stocking programs, use live bait, etc. There is a popular trophy trout lake up here called Diamond lake. Some idiot (or a few) thought tui chubs would make for fun live bait.... It ruined a productive fishery and caused the state to go to measures of poisoning it and restocking a few times. Now they are trying tiger trout to predate because the stupid things are coming back, so I'm excited for that.  Another lake got perch, so it gets tiger musky, also excited for that. The river got freshwater prawns. I tell you, I have never caught so many football smallies in one year. I mean they have their pros and cons, but it only takes one guy with different fish values to try to stock the river with something illegal and then you end up with something like the Asian carp in some areas.

There's enough people with little disregard for ecology to make it legal to have everyone just freely start moving animals around.  Look at the lionfish in the east coast or the pythons in Florida.  A lot of boaters out here in Cali raise a fuss over how strict and time consuming vessel inspections are to keep quagga/zebra mussels in check, but if those things ever get into our water system they're going to complain 100x more and wish they were stricter.  It's all an inconvenience until you see what mother nature is capable of.

I'm never sure, when people post these sorts of things, whether they actually want an answer or they just want to vent about something...

Are you seriously belief that "fish being dropped or regurgitated alive by fish eating birds" able to survive and multiplying alone? Or birds take care and regurgitated fish by pairs?

"fish being transported to other waters via typhoon/hurricane" type events  like Wonderful Wizard of Oz?  Some areas with same species of fish never have seen typhoon/hurricane. How with that? What else?

Your original question has been answered a few times over and in depth. We've gone past the point of this thread doing any good.
