Does anybody have good success with these baits fished like a normal senko ?  Tx rig or wacky weightless ? Everytime I see someone talk about these. It's 1/2 a zinkerz on a "Ned rig" I was eyeing them at field and stream but got the dingers and senkos instead...

I don't see why not.  A small weighted wacky rig with them would probably work even better.

You can wacky rig any worm.  I've caught fish on a 12" manns jelly worm wacky rigged.

I was asking for personal success... I like to fish the senkos weightless. If I use weight there are better options IMO.. I understand "you can wacky rig any worm" .. in reality it doesn't even have to be a worm.. but I was asking how well they compare to senkos and dingers... not if you can rig them... lol

I have caught fish using them on a lightweight shakyhead.  I know that's not texas or wacky so maybe I'm still not answering what you asked.  I fish senkos on a shakyhead too though.

I prefer using elaztech  baits on a shakyhead because they stand straight up and the current moves them around.

Nope, I fish senkos wacky any more.  I think fishing them wacky is what gives them their advantage over every other worm.  Fishing them tx you don't get their unique action.

I only fish ribbontail or utail worms on a tx rig.  Senkos are just regular worms that have a good wacky action.  Zinkers, and other zman/elaztech products i fish a ton of, have a great floating presentation with one end weighted down.

I thought the same thing about senkos until I really forced myself to use them Texas rig weightless.. I disagree big time that they aren't as effective . I prefer to fish them tx weightless now and I can get around 5 fish a worm with the original GY senko rigging this way. Senkos are not just regular worms... and definitely are not limited to just wacky. I could never wacky rig them again and catch bass with them day after day.

I Appreciate your insight on the zinkerz though.

I fish the zinkers just like senkos, weightless wacky/ Texas along with weighted wacky or Texas when they loose their salt and start to float. You can catch a three to five fish before they start floating. When they float I'll put a nail on them to make them sink, tear them in half and Ned rig them or use them on a shakey head.

I like normal senkos more because they sink faster but if I want some worms for the Ned rig, I'll get a pack of zinkers and fish them till the salt runs out

They're a good C-rig or split shot rig bait along with being a good T-rig bait, but I usually pitch them with a 1/4oz bullet weight instead of weightless.

I, personally do not like Zinkers. They seem to have far less movement than Senkos. I usually fish wacky, weightless, or on a 1/32oz head. I messed with the Zinkers in my pool and they seems almost lifeless in the water. They did not fall horizontally. The tips moved only slightly, and the worm fell on a weird angle which in a fishing situation could move my bait a couple of feet from my target. I know plenty of guys use them with success, but I'll stick with Senkos. I've tried several other brands too and still stick with the Senkos.

I keep a pack or two of white or bubble gum ones around for fishing on a drop shot when the smallies are bedding, because I can catch 30+ smallmouth a day on one bait..........otherwise the rest of the year I use Yum dingers.

I like white or pink, because..........see white or pink, keep fishing...........don't see white or pink, set the hook. With bedding smallmouth it don't matter what you use, they would bite a bare hook most of the time if they haven't seen an endless line of guys trying to catch them.

When I do find that they are being pressured a little, they will clam up some on the brighter, larger baits and I switch to a 3" yum dinger on the dropshot and can catch them literally right behind other guys who have sat on them for a long time and NOT gotten them to bite, usually within 15-20 seconds.........and often mutltiple times a day. Ask bckark7b.............

I don't like this kind of fishing much, and only do it once or twice a spawning season, usually when I have a guest in the boat and feel the need to put as many fish in the boat as possible for them to have a good day, and maybe once or twice when I am by myself just to sore mouth some of the stupid jerks who will pay me back the rest of the year by NOT cooperating when money is on the line LOL.

Almost the same, but on a Rugbyhead so that I don't loose as many, they are super easy for a fish/weeds to pull off a normal worm hook once they get soft.

Texas rigged weightless, popped like a fluke or jerkbait

This***I like fishing them over weeds as well, texas rigged weightless until the salt soaks out and then I use a bigger hook or add some weight....They have a different action, they work, Elaztech can be frustrating at times without glue or the right hooks. Takes some creativity to get them to stay on the hook when working them at times.

I like some of the colors the strike King Zero has since BPS didn't have the Zinkers. Both are made by same Manufacturer, same bait.

Yes, They work. Not sure if any better but they are durable. You can also turn them into a walking bait without the salt.

I've tried them weightless T-Rig too and just didn't find them as effective as wacky rig either.

I just use Senkos wacky rig now.

I just tried fishing a Zinkerz t-rigged for the first time this weekend.  After the first fish I started to struggle to keep the front of the worm up on the eye of the hook.  If I were to cast with any "extra" effort, I could see the worm ball up at the base of the hook before it hit the water.  Very frustrating!  Fortunately the bass seemed to be hanging out only about 15-20ft from shore, so the pitches didn't have to go very far.

What options are there to secure the slippery elaztech material to the eye of the hook?  Some super glue before the first cast?  Or maybe a EWG hook with some type of keeper on it?

Thanks

Brian

Ive experimented with all kinds of keepers and glue.  Keepers usually foul up with moss and algae in the waters I fish so here's what I do. I fish them weightless on a spinning rod spooled with braid. I put a 12lb flourcarbon leader in that. Here's the trick, when you tie your hook on, leave about 1/4" on your tag end of the knot. When you rig the bait, push the hook point into the bait a little further than you usually do.  This will bury the knot along with the tag end into the head of then bait. The short rigid tag usually provides enough to grip the elaztech material. You will have to play around with lengths of tags and depths of hook rigging to see what works best. I will say that this is not 100% guarantee and eventually it will tear up enough to start sliding down again.  This is however the most unobtrusive way to rig them if your looking for weed less.

^Those are what you're looking for. Hooks like the Mustad Grip Pin work great with Z-man, or you can go with a straight shank flipping style hook with the keeper on the top.

I also forced myself to fish them Texas weightless after watching a Youtube vid where Gary said he designed them to be used this way.

I use them wacky in water without a lot of weeds, Weightless Texas in everything else.
