Was fishing with my grandson last week and he caught his first keeper bass and we were both on the front deck when one of us accidently kicked or knocked over a rod/reel that I've had for a number of years.  Pretty expensive outfit and one I couldn't replace.   Kind of a mood changer but I didn't blame him or myself.....just did a wow!!!  Any way a friend who works at the fire dept said he would get it for me.  Well....after about 20 minutes I told him to forget it and he said he wouldn't until his tank of air was gone.  A few minutes later about 20 yards from where it went in he found it with his finger tips.....whoooohoooo

Amazing what just one week in the lake an outfit looks like....ugh.  Well, it's time to call the guy in Marysville and check him out.   Fingers crossed.

Never even thought to take pics.  Had been in water for eight days and the rod was covered in brown slime and so was reel.  Almost completly.  Have some work to do.  This fireman loves XCaliber rattle baits so a deal was made and he was happy happy.  Me too....but the reel repair guy in Marysville number no longer works....shucks.

Oh...and the rod/reel didn't move downstream....it had moved out in lake.....crazy.

What lake was it? A lot of those around you get some current going when they're generating and/or drawing them down for winter.

From info in other post I think he fishes Ft. Loudon or Melton Hill. Those results to the rod/reel could have happened on any lake in East Tn....Lol

I avoid Norris at all cost. I live on Douglas near point 8, between Muddy Creek and Dandridge bridge.

I started that tournament (Thursday) about 30 years ago and stopped fishing it a few years after moving to Dandridge because of the 150 mile travel distance(round trip). Tell Brian and Fred I said hello. It originally started as a post office employee tournament but over time opened to everyone. There are about 5 men that have fished that tournament for over 25 years. Some really good folks in it but a lot that I do not know. I still fish it occasionally but the membership fees prevent just fishing 1 or 2 a year. I have always tried to fish a Cherokee or Douglas sunday tournament every year but had schedule conflicts(grandchildren) this year. May see you next year. Good luck at the barr.

It is a good bunch.  Happy to be a part.  Brian and Fred almost won Angler of Year this year.  We were right behind them.  Good Lord willing will give them all a run for their money next year.  Tight Lines

Btw- Haven't talked to anyone recently. Who won angler of the year? Bill S. and Ricky would be my first guess or some of newer members.
