druben Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 My favorites this year have been the Missile Baits D- Bomb and the Gambler Big EZ. The D-Bomb is an awesome flipping/punch bait as well as a good jig trailer. The Big EZ rigged at a weighted swimbait hook has been good for me around grass and pads. Has a great swimming action. 1 Quote
Airman4754 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I fish a bunch of different plastics and have success with most of them. For this year the two I added that made a big difference were the Keitech Custom Leech and Crazy Flapper. 1 Quote

It looks like an amazing panfish/trout lure, but I cannot figure out how to rig it for them.  Quote

snake95 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I'm a simple bank guy and new to plastics this year, but after getting some great responses on the forum about where to start, I've been fishing plastics 90% of the time so far.  I've mostly used what is cheap and readily available; here's my top 5: 1.  The TRD - in every color, but especially Green Pumpkin Goby.  Fished on a 1/20 or 1/16 mushroom head.  (Per Glenn's video). 2.  Kietech paddletails, both swing impacts and fat swing impacts.  Fished every which way - really the one lure I wouldn't want to be without: swam on a VMC boxer jighead or Strike King squadron T-rigged weightless and run on top like a poor man's whopper plopper T-rigged, swam and deadsticked 3.  Yum Dinger - T-rigged, weightless, and chucked into the midst of any commotion I see on the water 4.  Yum Mighty Bug - every color - T-rigged, weightless swam on top, particularly in shallow bays and along weedlines 5.  Good ol' Zoom Super Fluke - again with a variety of rigs: nosehooked with a circle hook or T-rigged and fished as a jerkbait or walking bait on surface   1 Quote
Super User JustJames Posted October 20, 2016 Super User Posted October 20, 2016 I would vote for zman trd the best, I caught many and still using the same one. 2nd would be zoom fluke both super and junior in white. I do fish with a lot other but always come back to these 2. Â Â 1 Quote

It was the oldest lightning rod and equally old reels. He laughed that my rod had 12 guides and his had 6. That setup is what got me buying Grande Bass products. Quote
Torn Thumb Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Most of my soft plastic "luck" came on BPS black/blue stick-o's, brush hogs in watermelon-red, and various green colored yamasenkos. Also black/blue missile d bomb on a rage blade black/blue. 1 Quote

ScottK91 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Mine would have to be...... 1. 3" River Rock custom baits Ringer in GP with chart tail on 1/16 jig head or T rigged 2. 1/8 1/4 3/8 Rogers Jigs both hair and rubber in various colors with various trailers but mainly rage baby craws 3. Roboworm on drop shot and neko rig bold blue gill, MMIII, 4. Berkley gulp minnow smelt color on drop shot and jig head 5. I know this isn't a soft plastic but  Switching most of my rods to braid with fluro leader I mainly finesse fish because of all the pressure the waters I fish get its the only way to catch them. It's crazy how sensitive braid with fluro is compared to just mono. Caught lots of fish on these baits and still more to come as our fall bite is just heating up 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted October 21, 2016 Super User Posted October 21, 2016 One bait that I love that I've never seen mentioned on the forums is the Z-Hog by Zoom.I suppose they simulate a frog.I use the watermelon seed or watermelon red. The average sized fish is usually heavier than normal with this one.Its best in weed pockets and skipping under docks. 1 Quote
AndrewJ Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Well I got into bass fishing (well seriously at least) this past march when My wife and I bought our first bass boat. When we started we found the most success using GYB twin tail hula grub (in Blue Pearl Sv Flk) on a football jig. Then as the spring progressed I started finding success with the drop shot using either a roboworm (any color ending in shad) or a BioSpawn PlasmaTail (Green Pumpkin Plasma). I have also found a lot of success (including my PB) using a single tail grub ( I prefer either GYB or Kalin) in either rootbeer, green pumpkin or a white based color. So in no particular order  GYB Twin Tail Hula Grub (Blue Pearl Sv Flk) Roboworm Biospawn PlasmaTail (Green Pumpkin Plasma) GYB/Kalin Single Tail Grub (4-5 in Bet you wish I just listed those to begin with haha 2 Quote
The Patriot Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Very simple for me as always.  I stock up on these in spring and use them all year... 4 and 5" Yum dinger in green pumpkin, black, black/blue flake, and Carolina Pumpkin/chartreuse tail 6 or 7" Green pumpkin, and in black.  These larger ones are killer at night for me.  All of these are t-rigged weightless  This year I tried and loved the Ribbits frogs.  GrnPkn with white belly.  Plastics I want to try that I never have are the brush hog, beavers, and yums in tinfoil, cajun neon, and smoke pearl laminate. 2 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted October 21, 2016 Super User Posted October 21, 2016 I love yum  dingers as well.Watermelon seed ! Wieghtless. For some reason, I don't do as well with brush hogs.Baby brush hogs work well for me though.Did catch a 4 pounder on a brush hog once. 1 Quote
