j bab Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I'm gonna need the length, weight, and girth of each of the individuals in the picture to make an accurate estimate. Make sure you weigh them on solid ground, not in the boat. Also please provide the temperature and barometric pressure on the day that this picture was taken. 5 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted October 18, 2016 Super User Posted October 18, 2016 between 5 and 6 lbs. Never the less, nice fish. 1 Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 18, 2016 Super User Posted October 18, 2016 Very nice fish! 6 minutes ago, gulfcaptain said: between 5 and 6 lbs. Never the less, nice fish. That was my first impression too but looking at the young man's hand compared to the mouth makes me wonder if it could be a 4 lb'er. This is a case of needing to know the size of the individual holding the fish. Quote

(I'm on the right holding the fish) I was 5'7" in this picture and I weighed 105 lbs. While taking the picture, I was not sticking the fish out. This was taken in mid August during the JR Bassmaster National Championship in Tennessee. I live in NH and we usually never get to see a fish around 7 or over. It was 95 degrees out and it felt like over 100. We never got to weigh the fish because it was during practice and we didn't want to draw any attention to our boat and spot. There was many other boats around us. The bass had a huge girth. It really stunk that we couldnt get a weight. Because it was definitely bigger than my old PB of 5.5 lbs. Quote
