Caught this smallie today, I dropped my scales and didn't realize it until I caught this one. I caught a couple that were in the 1 1/2 pound range, but this one was a good bit bigger, I figured it would go over 2, but I'm not sure, but I am sure it's my pb smallie though, this is the first time I've been smallie fishing since I was in my early teens.

2lb range is a good guess maybe 2.25.

That's a good lookin' fish!

Thank you. First smallmouth I've caught since I was a teenager, it was a blast! A 2 pound smallie sure doesn't just ride the wave back to the bank like a largemouth!

Had a nice fill of 12 smallies recently with a few at 2 lbs.

They sure do fight somethin' purdy!!

Wish we had smallies in my area of VA.

I like fishing for largemouth more.. I love when you catch a big one and you can get your whole hand (and then some) down its mouth. But the color of a small mouth has to be the most gorgeous fish pattern I've ever seen.

I'd say over 2 lbs,.they sure are scrappy!

That they are! I was having a blast while they were biting, then the rain moved in and they stopped. I owe my beautiful bride big time for telling me to go before it started raining

Yea you do !!! Ha-ha. I'm not married. but live with my girlfriend and have a little girl together. And  I always get the "uhhh fishing again..." disappointed response like im wasting my time.. she just doesn't understand. But that's ok.. I always tell her I could be doing alot worse.

One thing I definitely enjoy more about smallmouth is I don't really need a boat to get into the good ones, at least not in the creek I fish.

Mine will go with me occasionally, I took her on her first fishing trip when we were dating, she outfished me, and I've yet to hear the end of it, and that's been almost 12 years ago!

Ha-ha! I have a similar experience. I took mine crappie fishing, because she doesn't have the patience or the want to fish for bass with artificial... we used live minnows. And caught a whole mess.. I took us to the spot, Rigged em, cast it out and let her set the hook. She caught the biggest one(we were on some slabs too I had a blast) And she still tells me about it all the time.

I'd rather catch 2lb smallies over 3lb largies any day. They're so much fun.
