sarcazmo Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 So i was browsing the TW website and noticed new Aetos rods by Fenwick I really like the blank through design of the spinning seat they use. I've been looking for a seat like this for a while. http://img.tacklewarehouse.com/watermark/rs.php?path=FEST-1.jpg&nw=760 Anyone know if it or anything similar is available? Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted October 16, 2016 Super User Posted October 16, 2016 that's a Fuji TVS that's been cut down . Quote
sarcazmo Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 haha, man I swear i didn't realize it was flipped upside down with the trigger removed! Gonna have to give it a go, thank you! Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Looks more like a custom job from Seaguide rod components. Quote

Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted October 17, 2016 Super User Posted October 17, 2016 my curiosity got the best of me so i called Fenwick and confirmed that it is a Fuji PTS cut down , kinda like how Phenix used to cut down Fuji ACS reel seats and made them into split seats , before the SK2 seats were made available. 2 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted October 18, 2016 Super User Posted October 18, 2016 That top seat reminds me of the seat on my old Berkley Series One Accuflex. Quote
EvanT123 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Do those spinning seats have to use an insert like the pts seats? Quote

Looks very similar to the fuji tvs. I've done some more research but still am confused. I think fuji tvs needs an insert if the blank doesn't fit. Don't now about seaguide xss? Anyone know how much some of the inserts weight? I thought I read somewhere they were an ounce or two? op hope I'm not hijacking here. Quote

Use a short arbor in the front and back of the seat and leave the windows open so the blank shows through. 1 Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted October 19, 2016 Super User Posted October 19, 2016 about the Fuji PTS (from Fuji ) Lightweight “blank touch” construction, a smaller trigger, special “three-channel” grooving in the barrel threads for smooth, secure hood travel (and fit) and a wider, flatter base to accommodate the gear box on low profile baitcasters. It “cradles” into the palm of your hand unlike any seat we’ve felt and made “walkin-the-dog” like a walk in the park. Requires a 17mm OD carbon insert tube (Not Included) Mudhole sells a carbon fiber tube made for the PTS/TVS reel seats in their CFX series - http://www.mudhole.com/CFX-Carbon-Fiber-Reel-Seat-Inserts Quote
