Basseditor Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Kistler has a new rod series. It's a graphite base transitioning to a glass tip. About two-thirds is graphite and one-third id glass. I've been using them the last month and if you fish moving baits, check them out on Kistler website. #getdanet 1 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted October 16, 2016 Super User Posted October 16, 2016 This isn't new, a lot of rod manufacturers have composite graphite/glass blends. Quote
bigfruits Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 He said Kistler has a new rod series, not that hybrid rods are new. 2 Quote
Basseditor Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 It's the way they look that's cool. Yes, the concept is not new. In fact, they look like an ugly stick. And, they are very light and strong. Quote
BrackishBassin Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 The fiberglass tip on Ugly Stiks is one of the reason I like their rods so much. It's all I use for saltwater stuff. Insane how sensitive the rod is while still being capable of throwing two ounce sinkers + bait. 1 Quote
