Found a pretty large stash of new-in-box Rebel lures at a local Mom and Pop store. This is a Medium Wee R in Muddy Pup, which I think is a discontinued color.

Are these sought after? They have them for $5.99 with an old sticker for $4.99 underneath.

My advice would be to buy them all.  You can't have to many cranks.   Fish with some of them and leave some of them in packages

I'm guessing this would be the answer that MOST of us would give.  Just buy them all and be done with it.  You know you want to!

That looks like newer Rebel Packaging. What is the date on the back. My guess is 2003? or 1998?

We have a shop that has a ton of older rebels, some in the very old packaging from the 70's, some in 80's, but that looks 90's-2000.

Rebel still makes a decent amount of cranks not sure about the color, but lures are only worth money if someone is willing to pay for them and from my experience, Rebel Lures that are made after 1990 are all over the internet......

They work well, I would type in the lure name, model number, color and then hit advanced on Ebay for any listed in past year and see if they have sold. You may get lucky if the color is out of production. It is really hard to tell.

I think they did stop making that color pattern, or patterns, but I see the older Wee'R cranks on Ebay often that are usually not in packages going for $5 each or so....Good cranks. Like the Rebel stuff. That color is good as well.

Deluxe, these are discontinued baits that were quite short lived, I'm thinking they made them in the 2-5 year range. I have a few myself but never really got Into collecting them.  I will be back after a while to give you more Information as I have to search some of the catalogs and confirm the year(s).

This Is only my opinion and It's quite biased as I am a Rebel bait guy but I would buy what you want and buy a few to see If they will sell. They are fairly common and there's not the demand for these as there are the 70's Rebels.

Thanks for the info. I bought 4 of the Muddy Pup Mid Wee Rs. There's plenty more in several colors. I'll probably go get some, because it is true that you can't have too many cranks.

Thanks for the info, very helpful. Copyright 2000 and there is a website address. They look great, hopefully the smallmouth in my local river will like them.

Deluxe, I did some digging and here's the scoop: They were made one year only, 2002. There was quite a run of them so they were around for years and years but they didn't sell well enough to continue production. They are USA made which Is cool. The mud puppy color Is a fantastic looking color!

Now, some of the packaging might say '98 but It was fairly common at the time to use whatever was on hand package wise, If that makes sense.

Jsmel and scaleface:

I bought all the Wee Rs and Mid Wee Rs and am hanging on to them for now, but there were Deep Wee Rs and Crank Wee Rs and some discontinued Critter baits (Big Ant) still there last time I checked.

Glad to grab some for you if you can pay the $5.99 per plus shipping charges.
