jr231 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Any gycb baits that youd recommend OTHER than the senko, ika, or double tail hula grub . ? I've also tried the swim senko. I've done well with all of these . I was eyeing a pack of his craws. And was just wondering if you use any of his other baits ? Quote
TrippyJai Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Another popular bait is the Shad Shape Worm for drop shotting. They are $4.79 for a pack of 10. My favourite would have to be the Kut Tail Worm other than a Senko. 2 Quote

MBB Nate Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Are any of the hard baits any good? I was looking at the cranks today and they are floating which is weird. The popper looks good but I don't like how shallow the nose on it is. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 15, 2016 Global Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 4" Yamamoto single tail grub, smoke no flake. Put it on a jighead, cast it out, reel it slow. It's deadly and SUPER boring to fish, but it catches the fire out of them when they're eating small baitfish and ignoring more aggressive presentations. 3 Quote

Yea, I have really been liking these as my "heavy fluke" option. They jerk well and wiggle like a senko on the fall. They seem far more durable then a sanko as well. 2 Quote
primetime Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Does GYB make any soft baits that are not good? Serious Question, kind of like Strike King, Zoom Etc..I think they all have good baits depending on your preference/Fishing style. Whenever I find GYB baits on clearance on Overstock or Kinami, I buy them since I have yet to fish a GYB bait and think "These are junk". I regret some colors I order but I like the Stretch Grubs they make, 6" Grub which is like the BPS Swizzle Stick, Senko with a Curly tail on the back, works great no matter how you fish them, If you can find them I would grab a pack since they can be really good when a buzz worm is too much. I used to use the Swim Shad they make as a trailer on swim Jigs and Chatterbaits but for some reason I stopped, but I used to do well with the Shad body style baits they make. They worked well, but I would buy more Swim Senko's. You can never have enough of that worm especially the sizes, laminates, that is a winner that will catch fish on the toughest days.... I read good reviews on their Kut Tail worms, and I have noticed I catch more fish with GYB Kut Tails than the BPS brand. They make a nice 10" kut Tail worm. I have not used the smaller one's but would assume they are good like the bigger model 1 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted October 15, 2016 Super User Posted October 15, 2016 The double tail Hula Grub is an absolute staple for smallmouth in my region. It's a great largemouth bait as well. The color 176 with the ends of claws, as they are, died blue is money. 1 Quote

I bet I've caught fish on 8 or 9+ colors. On everyone I've ever tried. This goes the same for the senkos. Quote
blckshirt98 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 The kut tails for dropshotting are the most common Yamamotos I use. I also like the pro senkos (laminated colors) for dropshotting or on a shakey head. The thin senkos are like a cross between a senko and pro senko, and can be rigged like any worm. I did get a ton of single/double tail grubs from Overstock when they had them for dirt cheap, but the plastic/action on some of the colors seem stiff, especially compared to other plastics. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted October 16, 2016 Super User Posted October 16, 2016 I acquired 2 bags of Yamamoto "Japan Only" 6" curly tail worms back in 2014. They were my number one bait that year until I used up the two bags which didn't take long considering they were Yamamotos. But wow did they catch fish. Two other YCB to try are the Kreature, and the curly tailed grub. Both excellent baits. 1 Quote
seyone Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Im a big fan of the shad shape worm, just deadly on smallies on the dropshot. I also love the Kut tail worm! Scarborough817 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 i use the large flappin' hogs all the time for flipping and even as jig trailers at times 1 Quote

I use his craws in our really clear waters up here. They seem to produce more hits when carefully, shortened to the right length and added to one of my bass jigs. Double tail grubs, or zooms salty chunks, work well in stained or muddier conditions. But, in clear waters the craws get the nod. They also work well when texas rigged alone as well. 1 Quote
Dypsis Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 The flappin hogs (large) were or well I guess I should say are my go to t-rig bait. They are simply too expensive now a days. I still have a bag or two with me at all times, but it simply won't get the use it used to. Shade Shape Worms are also a wonderful bait as others have stated - drop shot, mojo or small ball or dart head jig. 2 Quote

The black and white ones, still have them in-case i need to throw a popper that doesn't have an internal rattle. The black popper worked for snook on a trip to Florida as well. Quote
