Super User tcbass Posted October 14, 2016 Super User Posted October 14, 2016 Floating fish grippers were recommended on here and I've seen them at Cabelas in the past. Not too expensive. I was thinking about buying a pair but I noticed that Cabelas and Bass Pro stopped selling them and they aren't in stores anymore. Did something happen? Were they defective or went out of business? Tackle Warehouse carries basically the same thing under the Rapala name....so maybe they sold their patent/rights to Rapala? Anyone know why Cabelas and Bass Pro stop selling floating fish grippers? Super User Darren. Posted October 14, 2016 Super User Posted October 14, 2016 The Hampton, VA BPS still has one for sale, not sure the brand, but I saw it last night, FWIW. I'll see if I can find a link...if there is one. It's BPS brand... http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Lock-Jaw-Gripper/product/2296154/ Quote

Scarborough817 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 if the ones they sell don't float and you lose them they will probably sell more 1 Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Funny, I was just looking for this in Cabelas the other day and did not find one anywhere, which I thought was odd because I bought my last one there. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 15, 2016 Global Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 Academy sells some that float and glow in the dark. The BPS by me carries some Rapala ones. I have a pair but haven't ever tested if they float or not. I know the Academy ones float because they're one of the things I recovered after I flipped my yak. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted October 15, 2016 Super User Posted October 15, 2016 Amazon is another option, and you have Prime its free shipping. 1 Quote
KDW96 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 BPS still sells them at store and online. 1 Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted November 8, 2016 Super User Posted November 8, 2016 I don't use them, I broke the jaw on a nice pike once and unfortunately had to keep it because of that. Now I no longer use them. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted November 9, 2016 Super User Posted November 9, 2016 NH BPS still does, but amazon prime is cheaper Quote
Rick Howard Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 If they don't sink how will they sell you new ones when ya drop them in the water? Seems like they would be bad for business. Quote
