KellyDurhamBass Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I'm too cheap to buy a scale and I wanted to get some opinions. Quote

Ktho Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 If you don't weigh it on a scale it weighs whatever you want it to weigh 2 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted October 12, 2016 Super User Posted October 12, 2016 Looks to be mid 4s. Really big head and mouth. 2 Quote
shimmy Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Common answers for bass are going to be either 5 pounds, 8 pounds, or 10 pounds. Nothing in between. Pick one and then say that you weighed it on two separate scales and then your story will fit right in. Or, look up the state record, go one pound underneath it, and there is your weight. 7 Quote

jr231 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Yea it's hard to tell. He could be 6'2 or 5'6" ha-ha. It's a nice bass tho. That fish would make me feel so great. 2 Quote

jr231 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 If people would carry a simple soft tape measure. It would be more credible and much easier to estimate. Here's a pic of my 21in bass with 15in girth etc. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted October 13, 2016 Super User Posted October 13, 2016 That's a 3 lb body on a 6 lb head and tail. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 13, 2016 Super User Posted October 13, 2016 That is your average 3-3 1/2 lb bass held out to the camera. Tom 2 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted October 13, 2016 Super User Posted October 13, 2016 It weighs exactly 5 lbs 1 ounce . 2 Quote
dwh4784 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Why not bring a scale, I don't get it? I fish from a kayak, with the smallest tackle box Cabela's sells and still bring one. The fish in my avatar is 3lb6oz, selfie pic with the fish nearly touching my face. But still the camera is too close so it looks bigger. The OP's fish looks significantly larger, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a mid 4lb fish or better. But again, gotta have that scale! 2 Quote

Super User MassYak85 Posted October 13, 2016 Super User Posted October 13, 2016 Maybe 4. Long arming the fish makes it much harder to tell. At that point all we have to really go off of is the size of your fist. 1 Quote
