Spinning Rod for small soft Swimbait

Looking for a 6'10" to 7' spinning rod to throw small soft swimbaits like a 3.5" Keitech Swing Impact or a super fluke Jr Can I use an extra fast tip rod? Or should I go fast tip?

For that application I use a St Croix Premier 7" light fast tip. A little over $ 100.

You can use either. I've used/use both and it doesn't make a big difference.

Currently using a ML/F for this but I find the rod slightly under powered. I will be going with a M/F as a replacement at some point.

I use a ml/xf spinning rod with 10lb braid and a 8lb leader for 4in easy shiners on jigheads with a open hook.

I use a Falcon Bucoo 6.6ft med/heavy power, xfast action (feels more like a Med power), fairly inexpensive rod, with 12lb dura cast braid & 8-10 lb flouro leader, cast a mile and handles larger smallies very well.  Also doubles as my blade bait set up in the early spring, tip is soft enough to give the bait the action it needs and yet have a gd hook set on small swim baits and the blade.

I think it would depend on where you're swimming the bait. I use mine as a frog alternative many times, so I have mine on a 7ft Crucial M/XF because they'll hit the swimbait then make a beeline back down into the weeds so I need to have a rod with enough backbone to horse them out if needed.

I use a 6' custom ML/F (although it is more of a Light Medium rather then a Medium Light, if that makes sense) for the 3.5" Swing Impacts and it works great.  They are a skinny, soft plastic and the bass hit them super hard and tend to hook themselves even when t-rigged weedless.  

I use that same rod for a lot of weightless plastics and have never had an issue setting the hook if I use light wire hooks.

I asked about this I think a year or two ago and got some 
good advice because I was losing fish near my yak, likely
due to the hookset because the pre-rigged baits have a 
thick hook.

The advice was a MH rod, I think from @A-Jay, so I bought
a 6' MH Berkley Lightning rod...can't remember the success
level because the bite died off in the area I was fishing not 
long after I bought it.

Alas, that rod met its demise in the spokes of one of my son's
bikes...'nuff said. Haven't done the swimbait thing much since.

For that type pf bait (open hook on a small jig head or a super fluke Jr. on a thin wire/standard ewg  hook in open water to light cover)    I use a St Croix LTB rod.    And I do like it quite a bit.

  It's the TBS71MF / PLASTICS Spinning Rod.   It's rated as a Medium power Fast action rod and does what I need it to in that situation. 

Btw, I used a light braid & nylon leader right there.

The next rod up in this line is the TBS71MHF / POWER SPIN; rated as MH & Fast.  I do not own that stick and really do not need it as asy presentations I'd be making in that rods rated range I'd be throwing revolving spool gear.

I use a dobyns dx 743 for what your looking to do.  It works well and I would recommend it.

I use 1/16 and 1/8 jigheads on 3 inch swimbaits and wanted to ask if you allnwoukd suggest a rod that is 7'6"?

I have a 7'1"  Ml xf but its good for dropshots but I find it a little wimpy at times.  Id also like to have both techniques available to me at same time.

I use a 6'8" Shimano Cumara Medium Fast for 3"-4" grubs and paddle tails with 1/16th-1/8th ounce jigheads.
