My preference is the Tatula CT. However I have a preference for Diawa in general. I own 7 which includes 1 Exceler, 1 Tatula CT and the rest are standard Tatulas and Tatula Type Rs. They are really nice but other s will tell you you should only consider a Lews or Shimano, so we all have our favorites. I can tell you my reels get used alot. I fish locally here on the tidal Chesapeake Bay rivers for bass and stripers but often catch big blue cats at the same time. I also travel annually to Tennessee and fish for smallies, largies and Kentucky spots in very clear waters. My equipment get tested in many different situations so I have full confidence in it or I replace it. I just sold a Shimano Chronarch for that very reason. It was okay, but I disliked having to remove the side plate to adjust the inside brakes. Again there are legions of devotees that love those reels, but for me I prefer to easily adjust the braking from outside, The Daiwa braking system works great for me and I seldom have trouble with backlashing.

Well, I'll give you an opinion from another angle.  I own several Lew's reels including a Tournament MB and I really love it.  Similar to the first respond-er, I own mostly Lew's and no Shimanos or Daiwas (except a vintage PL1000).  The MB is now available for just over $100 and for the money has many of the features of much more expensive reels.  There is a dual braking system which I like.  It has both an externally adjustable magnetic brake and an internal Centrifugal brake.  Casts very far.

I will say the Tournament MB and the reasons are not what some may say like, "there is only Shimanos or Daiwas". Responses like that are not fact based. Those are fan based opinions. Here are the facts. Tournament MB is lighter, has a stronger drag, and a slightly smaller over all size. So considering they both can be had for virtually the same $, both are very reputable companies, and both are very popular tried and true models the facts in the description or specs are pretty much what I have to base my decision on when purchasing. And yes I own both and both do the job so neither one is a bad choice.
