Big Fish Small Pond Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Any recommendations for a M/F or ML/XF Spinning Rod under $100 would be much appreciated. I am doing some of my own research, buy would like to get input from you guys at BR. Thanks, Big Fish Small Pond Quote
ibobpeb Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 St. Croix Eyecon. I have a Legend Elite and I find myself using the Eyecon just as much. Great rod for the $ Quote
Big Fish Small Pond Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Thanks for the input ibob. I am interested in getting a St. Croix, preferably somewhere on sale. Big Fish Small Pond Quote
Super User Spankey Posted October 10, 2016 Super User Posted October 10, 2016 I'm a St. Croix fan. Check out some Premier Series and Mojo Series rods. You've heard of these. A lot of spinning version options. The Avids are great sticks. But not really necessary. I like the Avid series but don't want to spend your money. If all you've ever fished with were ugly sticks and off wall stuff you will like the Premiers. I'm not dissing ugly sticks and off the wall stuff. I'm sure bigger fish than I've caught were caught with them. You'll feel the difference. Have fun with your search. Quote
Big Fish Small Pond Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Thanks Spankey, I do like those St. Croix's. Now if only they were on sale tho lol. Thanks, Big Fish Small Pond Quote
Chrisran99 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 If you can't find a deal on a higher priced rod, check out the Fenwick HMG MLF. Its a great finesse rod and I like it for weightless plastics in open water. If your patient I'm sure you can find a deal on a higher priced rod like the Aetos. I've got two St. Croix Avid for around $100. Quote
PatrickKnight Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 You wont find anything nearly as nice as the Aetos on sale right now. It is a much better rod than any of the 100 dollar St. Croix offerings unless you can find an Avid for 100 Quote
Big Fish Small Pond Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 Thanks for the input guys. I think I have found what I was looking for. Any further information would be appreciated though. Big Fish Small Pond Quote
