Your talking about a whole diffrent

caliber and class of rifle then what he asked about.

6.5 grendel is a intermedite rifle caliber designed to get the most from the ar15- The 6.5 creedmoor is a full length rifle caliber designed for long action bolt rifles and the larger ar10 platform.

I own several of each caliber and i have never seen creedmoor ammo priced close to 223 or 6.5 grendel.

My fault, I thought the Creedmoor and Grendel were similar in ballistics.

Posted

They aren't that far off from each other ballisticaly speaking.

In terms off down range drop and wind drift and retained bullet energy they are not that far apart and they get closer the longer the range is.

But the grendel just does it in a smaller, cheaper to build and lighter weight platform with not much more recoil felt in the shoulder pocket then shooting a 223 round.

Now it could be the creedmoor ammo is priced better these days then I remember I haven't taken mine out of the gun safe since I built my first 6.5 grendel.

For me and what I use the rifle for it has replaced all other calibers.

I use mine for deer and hogs out to 600 yards and have shot target plate out to 875.

Their is a large selection of ammo avialable for the grendel with more set to hit the market.

I use the wolf 100 fmj in my home defense grendel and in my hunting/target grendel's I use the

Hornady black 123 eld-m factory ammo

Hornady 123 sst

Nosler 100 and 120 BLT

TTSX 100 and 120 grain loaded by Presisionfirearms.

AlexanderArms the company that developed the round and chamber loads and sells ammo and PF loads several other loads for the grendel.

Federal is also introducing some rounds for the grendel as well.

The only diffrence between a grendel and a standard 223/556 is the chamber, bolt and mags everything else on or in the rifle is the same as what is used on a normal ar15 chambered in 223/556.

Only  things that effect accuracy in a ar15 or barrel, trigger, scope and mount and the shooter all other parts are just for hunting the gun together.

My JP barreled grendel's all hold 5 shot groups at a 100 yards with Hornady eld-m black ammo at are just above half a inch.

Long winded but hope it helps someone.

I apologize for the confusion with my first post. I meant the 6.5 G prices weren't that far off from .223/5.56. My 6.5 C is no where near the ballpark of those prices lol. I just reread that and realized what I typed. Sorry about that.

It's cool bro everybody makes mistakes.

Yea the grendel ammo is getting to a very good price nowaday's I like the fact I can buy a box of 20 hornady factory loaded ammo for under 17 bucks with tax and still reach out and drop better groups with my grendel then my freinds and family members can with their large bore rifle's and do so far much less per round.

Last year's buck

18 inch ultralight weight JP barrel sammi chamber

PF loaded 100 grain NBLT

315 yards neck shot bang flop

I have multiple AR's both .223 and .308 from Devil Dog Arms here in Illinois. They are pretty sweet.

Well, I originally built it with myself in mind but now the wife is trying to claim it.

I have a Palmetto State Armory AR15 with a couple enhancements like nicer fore rail and a 3X Sigtac scope. I traded up from a canoe to a Browning buckmark to this rifle. The person that sold it to me built it and said it's only been fired 20X to sight in the scope. I haven't even shot it in the 2 years I've had it. It's the cleanest AR around. I just wanted it because some political powers told me I didn't need one. Well, I don't NEED to own my house, truck or boat either. I don't need 5 baitcasters or a huge HDTV. In America we buy what we desire.

I bought a 10 round mag and some hog ammo for it. It's my intention to actually hunt with it.

Here it is along with a Remington 514 .22 bolt action single shot that my dad had when he passed away. It's nothing nice, but it belonged to my grandfather, so it's a family heirloom. And it hasn't been produced since 1978. I have no idea how old it is.

Built this one over the summer. Super budget build with parts bought off forums and a smoking deal on the barrel. Not including optics I’ve got a hair over $600 invested after the transfer fees on the lower.

Chambered in 20practicle for predator hunting. The stock took a little getting used to but it’s not terrible. I’d rather have a full stock on it but in NY that’s a no no unless you pin the mag.

I love AR's. They're like Legos for adults. I just finished building a rifle for a friend and 2 pistols for myself.

The rifle has a PSA lower with KNS kit and 2.5lb trigger, the upper is a CBC Industries with a 16" barrel and 15" HERA Keymod handguard.

The pistols are 7.5" and 10.5". The 7.5 has a Spike's lower, KAK Shockwave armbrace, KNS kit, and a 2.5lb trigger. The upper is a Diamondback Firearms with a Keymod handguard.

The 10.5" lower is identical to the other one, upper is a PSA Premium, with a Magbul MOE handguard, and MBUS rear sight.

I recently started on 2 more rifles for myself. A .224 Valk. with a 20" bull barrel and a .300 Blackout with a 16"bull barrel. I like the .300 due to the fact that it will cycle subsonics, whereas my .223's won't.

I use a Colt Match Target Competition HBAR II for coyote hunting. I replaced the Colt barrel with an AR Stoner 16" stainless spiral fluted .223 WYLDE barrel last year. 1 in 8" twist. It's an amazing shooter at 100 yards with 55gr Nosler BT's...

The AR in .223 is fun to shoot, but I REALLY like bigger holes like those the LR-308 delivers shown with the plinker .223. Nobody at the range notices my AR, but pull out the LR, and it's deadly quiet :-) That is except when I touch it off, then it really IS a blast!

They don't notice it because it isn't Gucci getto fabulous with 2000 dollars worth of junk hung on it, like their mall nijia built rifles lmao.

That's why I use a grendel, more punch on plates and animals but still on the nice and light and compact ar15 platform.

I sold all my ar10 and sr25 rifles. Even my 4800 dollar customed built super light weight 14.5 inch pinned 6.5 creedmoor I had built on a g2 reciver set.

With all that money spent it still wasn't as quick handling are compact as a ar15. Not to mention the migraines the thing would give you after 10 shots from the goofy concussion wave it would throw off.
