YoTone Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Im currently using 1 bait casting set up for all the fishing. Im currently using 30lbs test braid and i will be getting new line soon. I usually use chatter/spinner baits, jigs, the 130 plopper and occasionally frogs when conditions call for it. would you go lighter or heavier test for these applications and why? thanks for reading. Super User Angry John Posted October 7, 2016 Super User Posted October 7, 2016 I would go 40 or 50 due to the frogs and jigs. You would get less dig when hittingvthem hard. 2 Quote
papajoe222 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 30lb. is all I use, except for punching thick weeds. I would base your choice on the type of presentations you use most and the type, or lack of, cover you encounter frequently. Quote
AZinda Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 40-50 lbs Power Pro on all my frog and punching setups. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted October 7, 2016 Super User Posted October 7, 2016 30# .011"dia braid will be fine for all around use and occasionally frogs. 1 Quote
