SpiderWire released a translucent braid that is fluoro coated. Supposed to be less visible than your traditional braids.

I could see this coming in handy for the "finesse frogging" technique that blew up on here. I'm interested to see if it's as tough as other braids, though.

I found this pretty quick

I have never seen the stuff in real life, and it might look completely different underwater....but to me that is WHITE. Which I would think would stand out even MORE.

Interesting! I was referring to the new translucent stealth braid, hopefully it will be better than invisi braid. You could be right on the color issue

Braid is braid. It's never going to have the stealthy-ness that fluoro has. If you need braid, use braid. If you need invisibility, use fluoro.

Oh you're right, my mistake. But still...this stuff looks more white than clear.

During the transition period from Dacron braid to monofilament line, braided mono was offered, clear braided line back in the  Late 50's, early 60's. History repeating itself.

If it's fluoro coated does it also sink? Could have other good uses but frogging wouldn't be one of them if that was the case.

I think that there is no transparent braids only marketing. I can say is with us conclude by the disappearance of the color of light. Red colour fades quickly. This diagram shows the clear waters,in troubled waters all the colours fade faster

I use green power pro often with no leader and the river I fish it is uncommon to not see the bottom. I have never once thought to myself if I was using fluro right now I would catch more fish. I honestly think it is pretty hard to see 10-20 lb braid underwater because its just so thin.

Color braid does not matter if we are fishing in deep water. The transparent and shallow water probably is. Depending on how a fish feeds.

Just use a quality flouro for everything except punching and on top...problem solved ;)

And on the eighth day God commanded Adam to tie a fluoro leader to his braid if the braid color bothered Eve...
