Sometimes you have to give up quality for cheap prices. Yamamoto has a higher quality plastic than brands like Zoom. This quality might only make a difference in catching one fish for some lures, but for thinks like senkos, i feel it makes a world of difference. Yamasenkos have a much better action and fall rate than a Yum Dinger. This is due to its high quality plastic formulas.

I think Zoom would suit you well for two reasons; reasonable price & availability.

I throw em but I throw three other brands with equal success.

I im loyal as well and even take it into almost a superstition. The only craw baits i will use are Berkleys havoc baits (any of their craws). If im using a diferent craw and not catching fish, then i will usually blame it on the fact that it isnt a havoc.

I seem to have good luck with Strike King and RageTail baits, especially for weightless fluke type baits. I don't know what it is but I will use a Zoom fluke all day with no bites, then switch to a SK Caffeine Shad and KILL it, so needless to say I don't buy Zoom anymore.

I've only really used plastic worms and to me nothing compares to a Yamamoto. The wiggle it has when it falls is hard to replicate. I've tried some knock off brands and they just don't have the same wiggle. 

 

I'm wanting to experiment with remaking my worms by adding some garlic salt or garlic powder and see if the smell sticks. Bass seem to love that garlic smell.

BizzBaits Sassy sticks are what i've found to be pretty close and are a lot more durable , as i wacky rig my stick baits , Senko's don't last past the cast !!

shakey head - Havoc Bottom Hopper

back up stick baits are BigBiteBaits

bottom line is experiment with different brands and styles of plastics and find ones that work and stick with them , i'm like Tom (WRB) i stick to tried and true methods and products . i don't rush out to buy 10 bags of the supposed hot new bait , if i hear a lot about something i'll see if it sounds like it relates to my style of fishing then maybe i'll try a bag ( did that with the Havoc bottom hoppers and found they are great for shakey heads , they have nice colors , and the price is cheap !! )

I know a lot of people think the yamamoto senko is the best, but I think the Netbait Salt Lick gives  is as good if not better.

Me too.  I have WAY more than I'll use the rest of my life and I keep on buying.   I like to buy unknown, unpopular or obscure brands to try out.  Some have been really good but they often go out of business and you can't find them anymore.
