short 2 piece rod for gf

Can anyone suggest a very short two piece spinning rod under 100 for my gf.  She fishes out of small kayak and she struggles with my 7 foot rods and the small ugly stick she uses is hard to accurately cast.

Does it have to be two piece?

Is the handle length the problem, or overall length?

What is range of lure weights that you expect her to be able to throw?

FFO often has the 2 pc Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth spinning rods avail, though I don't see any at the moment.  I'd check there frequently.  They do have a 6'3" Aetos in your budget, but it is one piece  - I've only had mine for a few days, but I am thrilled with it.

1 piece is fine if its really short.  Id prefer a 2 piece so she can break it down and stash it out of way when not intereres in fishing.  I was thinking an UL up to 3/16 or 1/4 oz.  Panfish and small bass are the target.

I could be wrong....and I usually am when it comes to trying to guess what women want....but, I'd like to think that getting a shorter handle without focusing too much on rod length will get her where she wants to be.  Casting from a kayak, while wearing a PFD, can be challenging with longer rod butts.  Fortunately, TW lists handle lengths.  And some mfr sites specify specific handles with their models (e.g. St Croix and Abu Garcia.)

And btw, who targets small bass?  

BPS used to have some pretty decent house brand UL's, but I haven't been there in years.

Berkley amp 6'6 2 peice. Around 30 bucks and its not a bad rod

I have/had a 6' 2-piece L spinning rod made by a company named "Tsunami".  They are pretty common around here as inexpensive saltwater/surf rods.  It wasn't the most sensitive thing ever but it worked well when I was getting into fishing and was rugged enough to survive a few accidental smacks into tree limbs and such while I was learning to cast. 

The tip did break on me, but I was dumb and tried to lift a ~2lb smallie about 15' out of a canal lock.  I fished it with a new tip for months until it had a run in with the rear door of my car.  Now, as a 5'7" rod, it is too stiff for most light lures but I keep it around as a loner rod for perch fishing as it still throws and works 1/8oz spinners well enough. 

They seem to be available online at around your price range and it will definably be a step up from an Ugly stick.

I have a one piece rod that my wife is no longer interested in. It is sensitive, but as for action, I'd have to rate it "none lately." It's missing the guide at the very tip but it's been that way as far back as I can remember, and doesn't seem to affect sensitivity.
