Hello, I want to stick some lights underneath my trailer. I live in Florida. I know you cannot have any lights but I was thinking to put amber strip lights in front of the tires, maybe 6' ft or so. And the. Put red strip behind the tires, maybe a foot. I was just going to hook them up to running light. I couldn't find and info out. Maybe y'all have done this. Thanks for any input

I'm not sure about your local laws in FL. I know a lot of laws that deal with underglow are very picky on what is actually allowed and in states that don't have a law against it there can be county, city, or township ordinances against them. It further complicates things as some places they are allowed as long as you cannot see the actual light emitting device itself. I think as long as you use red in the back and amber in the front you shouldn't have issues given that those are the two allowed colors for trailer lights in those places. I know a lot of the elites run amber lights on top of their trailer frame to light up their wraps at night so they can advertise even at night.  I would still probably wire in a remote control switch for them though. If you look on ebay you can find them fairly cheap. They have a remote control like a key fob that you can keep in the vehicle and then you can turn them on and off at your choosing. I did full length underglow on my last boat and did them in blue. I used a toggle switch when I wired mine and wish I would have went wireless as I'd have to stop and get out to go flip them off before going through certain towns.

I think a lot of states would not allow the blue like WIGuide has because blue lights are reserved for LE only.

As for the amber and red marker lights on the trailer, I can't see that being a problem as long as the amber was on the sides and reds in the rear and they are not so bright they would be blinding.  I Don't think they would want reds on the side, even behind the axle.

A quick call to a State Trooper/Patrol office would probably answer you questions better than anything.

Thanks guys, I gonna call state trooper and if I can I will put some amber light on. I'll let you know if I do, and if I do, I will put a wireless remote. Thanks. Tight lines.
