I've always been a Shimano guy.  This past winter I picked up a Quantum Smoke PT    REALLY CHEAP.    It wasn't bad so I picked up a EXO 100 at a good price here off the site.  Oh my.  Really, really nice.  It's at least changed my perspective on high end Quantum reels.

I'm a Shimano guy myself, but last week I snagged a Tour MG PT for an unreal price. Should be delivered today. Can't wait to test it out!

I picked up 3 of the Quantum® EXO PT Casting Reel when cabelas had them for $99. I have been extremely happy with them. Im not sure how long they will last or how easy they will be to repair, but at $99 they were worth every penny.

I always liked the looks of Quantum reels, especially
the newer models since the Smoke and EXO reels came
out.

I'm not in the market any longer for casting gear (at least
at this point), and I've settled on Shimano for spinning
reels... But I'm always interested when new gear comes out....

Been using the top tier Quantum gear for a while - not exclusively but still quite a bit.

Recently added a couple casting reels with a bit more line capacity for the up coming A-Rig season.

Went with the QUANTUM EXO PT EX200SPT ~ Auction site purchase.

Very pleased I am.

Well, Dave, as long as you are trying something other than Shimano reels I can suggest 2 more...Primmus and Helios Air.  Not popular, but excellent reels.

Big Shimano guy here, I've owned Cores, Chronarchs, Curados, Citicas, and a bunch more. Have tried Quantum before and felt that it isn't as "refined" as Shimano is. I do currently own a Quantum Energy PT and use it for inshore salt. Snagged it for $80, and at that price, its hard to beat.

Im also a die hard shimano guy but i have a quantums and i have to say they are probably my favorite reels. I will probably convert in the future. But first i gotta sell so much shimano stuff

I'm a Lews guy but if I saw a high end Quantum at a deal I may take a shot. If I bought from BP it's an easy return.

I've never considered a Quantum.. I think Hackey uses them among others. Has to be a good reel. I think? 

I suppose the Zebco thing stigmatizes that reel.

I've been fishing for 56 years and a tackle junky for for almost 30 and there has never been a period like now where we, as anglers have so many options with so many manufactures. Mid and upper tier products are unbelievable.  I fished all Quantum for  about 5 years and had great performance.  I willed them to my buddy and he is fishing them today.  When I visit him annually in Ohio, I tear them down and lube them and away he goes.  I found a barely used Smoke 150 this spring (  really really cheap ) and another friend, who likes his Quantums, received it as a thank you for a boat repair he helped me with . It was a nice reel.  I hope you enjoy the heck out of them.

Hackney, Van Dam, Ashley, Swindel, Gribsby, Biffle. They've certainly got a great pro staff and those guys win with them. 

Like I said and many have probalby noticed, I'm pretty much a through and through Shimano guy, but last week I snagged a Tour MG for a steal of a price on the big auction site. This reel has caught my eye ever since it was released and I've been wanting to try it, and for the money I picked this reel up for, I couldn't go wrong. I mean, if Quantum is going to charge $280 for a reel, it can't be that bad, right?

So I got my Tour MG in last night. I spooled it up with some 12lb. Yo Zuri Hybrid, set the tension knob and drag and mounted it on a SC LTB 7'1" M-F and went to a local pond to test it out. First cast, poof. Terrible backlash. Second cast, poof. Third, fourth, fifth... I knew I had to figure out how to open the side plate and adjust the brakes. Couldn't figure it out on my own, so I had to search YouTube. Got it figured out. Why on earth Quantum ships these from the factory with the brakes on 0 is beyond me... But I set it to 3 and started throwing a weightless Senko texas rigged. It handled this lightweight rig well and the reel felt good in the hands. I ended up catching one small one doing this. I switched over to topwater right before dark and threw a Pompadour Jr. No luck on that, but the reel casted well and had no issues. 

Now that I've figured out how this thing works, I'm curious to really test it out and see how it holds up. I doubt I'll be selling all my Shimano's, but it seems decent so far. It bogles me that Quantum's flagship reel doesn't have an externally adjustable braking system in 2016... Maybe once I put this reel through its paces I'll post up a full review.
