Last week when my fishin partner and I went to the lake I discovered a gas leak in my old n 'trusty 6.5 HP Johnson, it didn 't represent a problem not having the outboard because the lake is not THAT big so the TM was enough. I took it to the repair shop and they discovered that the leak was in the gas pump.....no problem, fix it.

New gas pump

Spark plugs

Transmission oil change

Cleaning the carburator

Replacement on teeny weeny tiny hose of carburator

300 bucks  :D, ouch !  :-/

There goes the money I had saved to purchase me a couple of GL2 rods.  :'(

Dude that sounds a little steep for that labor...i'm guessin they got you big with the gas pump and carb huh? I clean my carb every season just to stear clear of any problems that may come up due to lack of maintenance from it.

Look at it the way I do, when it comes to mechanics on internal combustion engines ..... how can I say it so it doesn 't sound that bad ?........I 'm a complete dork :-/. If the mechanic says $300 then it 's fine for me, taking in consideration that the last time I tried to "fix" something the "repair" didn 't come out very well, the outborad still had to go to the mechanic. ::(

But the mechanic has a couple of guard dogs......... just waiting for them to get sick and then ........ muahahahaha ( evil laff )  :D.
