Jigs . I like twister tails , paddle tails , tubes , marabou , Sliders and Beetle Spins . I also like to troll small crankbaits for them . The Bill Norman Deep Baby N trolled at 10 foot works real well if the crappie are at that depth .

Lots of good responses.I have caught plenty of quality sized black crappies on small jigs or Missouri minnows under a bobber.

I have had pretty good luck with a 1/16 ounce bass jig under a bobber.  Cast it out and slowly reel it back in.

Depends upon what method you are going to use.  For vertical jigging, a basic marabou jig can't be beat.  For trolling, a smaller Berkley Flicker Shad or Rapala Shad Rap are good choices.  Berkley gulp minnows on a small jig head are killer, too.

Those won't work on lake anna trust me. Not even worth your time.

I've caught crappie on zoom super flukes. And shadlicious swimbaits..

3" Berkley power minnow on a 3/32oz head is my go to crappie bait, but I rarely fish for them.

Gulp Alive 1" Fish Fry on a 3 - 5 mm tungsten ice jig head is my go to.

Here in East Tennessee during the summer months when the crappie are deep we troll small rattletrap style baits on lead core line about 20 ft deep. During the winter months we fish 1/16 to 1/8 oz hair jigs tipped with a minnow under a float, slowly moving it. But a bare hood tipped with a minnow will work year round if at the right depth. There certainly other baits that will work but these are my favorite.
