A guy at work today hooked me up with a free rod and reel today. A quantum smoke and Powell max swimbait rod. He had found on the side of the road. Reel handle was bent and a few rod eyes were bent but I straighten it all out. Normally not a quantum guy but hey it was free and the rod I have been just building my own but again free.

No it's got some serious road rash I don't doubt that he found it on the side of the road the knobs had gravel packed in them and are busted up

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.  Those are a couple nice rods.  My Smoke is very nice for what I paid for it. The Powell Max is also liked by many.

Yeah I think molay was agreeing with you. It fell out of someone's truck and ended up on the side of the road.

I'd check the eyes of that rod very closely, make sure all the rings are still in good shape. You don't want your line getting cut by them. And don't be surprised if that rod breaks sooner than you'd like, that kind of fall onto concrete has got to do some damage

Anyways, congrats on the free combo! :P

Some the guides were bent I bent them back all the rings are good. I got a few rods to re wrap this winter I'll probably re wrap some new guides on it also.
