Hey guys, will be headed up Moore reservoir the 24th of this month to go after some pike. Never really targeted them before, but we are hoping to get on atleast 1. I will be taking my 14ft v hull with 6hp motor and trolling motor on the lake so trolling is an option. Plan of attack was spoons in line spinners, and spinnerbaits around 15-20ft ledges depending on water temp. Any thoughts or tips or what I should throw or spots anything to help me out would be great thanks guys.

If you haven't done so yet, go on YouTube and search for Tim Moore Outdoors. He has a video on fishing for Northern Pike on Moore Dam Reservoir. I've never fished it makes self but hope to one of these days. Good luck!

Hi Mike, I've ice fished it a few times and have done well when the water levels remain somewhat stable. 18lbs is my biggest NP from there and I believe that much bigger ones are available but not easy to pin down in a place like The Moore.

I'm headed there with my boat to brown bass fish again in a couple weeks and also try to nail down some productive looking areas to pike fish this winter. In the spring I caught a couple decent rod n reel NP while sight fishing, they were shallow and I saw them from a good distance so was able to get a couple to hit a well placed chart. spinner bait and a pike class 10" white plastic grub. Both baits and rods were set up after seeing a few good NP while brown bass fishing.

Either way let us know how it go's and I will post up any NP info from my next visit.

Peace Dave

I offered my dad a fishing trip for whatever he wanted and he chose pike.  I heard this is the place to go.

We will be in a canoe without a motor and due to the size of this place hoping someone can give us some tips on where to start so we don't waste too much time paddling.  We will be going mid August for 3 days.
