Hello All,

I recently just purchased my first glass boat. 2013 Nitro Z7 with the 150 four stroke. I have a few random questions regarding the boat that I hope some of you have answers to.

1. Can I pull a skier with this boat? A couple times a year my wife and I head down to south MO and some of our friends usually end up going. I have already been asked by them if we are going to be getting a tube and wake board for our trip next year. Honestly this did not cross my mind at all when I was looking for a boat. My only concern with pulling from my boat are the connections at the back are very close to the outboard. I will snap some pics later but I am sure some of you know how close they are to the motor. Just curious if anyone has done this with a 13 Z7 and what will I need if so?

2. I would like to have some tunes while I am fishing sometimes. Anyone installed a marine radio on this boat? I have seen one or 2 installs in the passenger console but I remove the console every now and then depending on how many people I have fishing with me. I am trying to find the ideal spot to mount the unit and the 2 marine speakers.

3. I need some options for an anti slip deck pad. I have a few spots on the boat that are showing just a small amount of wear that I would like to protect. The loom for the wiring harness going into the outboard is rubbing on the glass at the back and starting to wear the paint off. I can provide pictures later. There are also a few spots on the inside I would like to cover.

I am sure I have more questions and I will post when they come up. Thanks for any input guys!

First your boat can easily be used to pull a skier. The proper way to do it is to get a ski pole like these. Do not use ropes to the back of the transom.

As for tunes I suggest you look at an Ipod or maybe an Ipod docking station and use bluetooth speakers. Perhaps it would store or mount in the glove box but won't take up much space. Check out how some of the newer boats are doing it especially the ski type boats.

All sorts of stereo options, you can install a standard stereo and sleeve or a Bluetooth stereo that can mount inside an unused gauge hole. No reason you can't run speaker wire, just have a well though out plan, use painters tape to mask the area you are cutting or drilling if it's fiberglass, and make sure you know what's behind what you are drilling/cutting into

slonezp I had the typical Attwood ski pylon that I linked to on my old fish & ski bass boat. I like your link better. For me I would install the mounts and only install the tubing when I needed them. I had never seen that one before. Nice:happy-111:

A lot of the multi species guys are running that system since many have their boats set up with downriggers and rod holders. Tbis keeps everything behind the boat

I like the Turbo Swing idea. That is what I need butt holy balls that is a lot of money. $600 to pull a skier plus boards, ropes, etc. Ill just buy a few more rod and reels for that and tell them we are fishing instead of skiing lol.
