trupp30 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I have been throwing a balded jig quite a bit this summer. I have been using Keitech swing impact fats, as my trailer. I find that they get torn up sometimes after just 1 fish. In the near future I will continue to use them. However, I am wondering if there is a good alternative that is more durable? Thanks for the help. Quote
Nathan Burton Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I've had good luck with the new rage swimmer. Slightly cheaper and very similar in quality. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted September 12, 2016 Super User Posted September 12, 2016 The Kickerfish Tail Slapper is more durable and nearly identical looking see the fatter one is the keitech 2 Quote
Airman4754 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 The Tail slapper is good, but I think Kicker Fish went under. The BPS Speed Shads are the best alternative I've found. 1 Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted September 12, 2016 Super User Posted September 12, 2016 Can still get them though -on sale too- stock up. Quote
seyone Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 tackle warehouse still has the tail slapper. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted September 12, 2016 Super User Posted September 12, 2016 Eco Pro makes a copy cat Bass Pro makes a copy cat Jackall rhythm wave is another copy Yum pulse is very similar Doyle Custom Baits makes the Zipper makes a similar swimbait but it's a little more durable and the kick isn't so wide and "fake" in my opinion. timsford Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Lunker city grubster and the big hammer ring hammer work good also. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted September 12, 2016 Super User Posted September 12, 2016 Big hammer ring hammer is very durable with great action and hookups Quote
faygo1979 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I have been having good luck with the Yum pulse. It is not exact copy but I find it works really well as a replacement for me. 1 Quote
RichF Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 x2 for the Eco Pro. Think they're less than $4 bucks too on TW. Quote
primetime Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Now that Keitech is making many baits in the USA, I find that many of the brands are similar in texture/color with the exception of the Sizmic shads which are harder, which can be good at times...I like the BPS speed shad, good colors, price, lots of sizes etc... Think they're less than $4 bucks too on TW. x3 I recently tried them when I ran out of kietechs because of the relatively low price(3.50 for 5pack). I must say I am pretty impressed. The tail has a very wide kick, even at extremely low speeds. They are pretty durable as well. To be honest I think I am going to be using these from now on instead of the kietechs. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted September 13, 2016 Super User Posted September 13, 2016 I was also impressed with the Eco Pro version, though I only have limited time fishing them. But I had a day when I was out hiking and took along three FIs and a single EP plastic. Each FI got me 2-3 fish before becoming too damaged to use, but the EP lure must have caught me 5-6 fish and is still fish-able. I tend to throw them on the 1/0 Owner ultraheads and that jig is really tough on plastics. Quote

Big Swimbait Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Kicker Fish Baits is now out of business. Buy what you can, where you can. Quote

Jackall Rhythm Wave quite a bit different imo. Wider, flatter body with more wobble in my experience. Quote
