mrmacwvu1 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I remember I was cooking eggs listening to ESPN on the tv when they said that we should turn to a local ABC channel. I finished my eggs and sat down to eat. I switched the TV over and they were talking about a plane hitting the trade center. As I was watching I saw the second plane hit and thought they were showing a replay. It took me a few seconds and then I realized what was going on. My mother at the time was living on long island but often worked in the city. In fact I was at the trade towers only months earlier. That was one day that I will never forget. I remember going to class a few days later and my lab partner's father worked at the Pentagon. His office was destroyed and his secretary was killed. He was late that day because a little old lady hit his car on his way to work. In 20 years I may not remember one thing from college but I will always remember that morning. It is amazing how the world has changed since that day 1 Quote

Molay1292 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I remember being a member of a Joint Task Force, Army, Marines and Air Force, looking in the eyes of the guys around me and seeing their pride and determination. The pride I felt being surrounded by amazing Men and understanding that each of us was counting on one another to do our jobs, no one better than another, just a team of men dedicated to performing our task as perfectly as possible with each other in mind. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. 4 Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted September 11, 2016 Super User Posted September 11, 2016 I remember. I had taken my mother-in-law to her doctor. I was sitting in my vehicle listening to the radio. The programming was interrupted with news that a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers. Shortly after that a second plane was flown into the second tower. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted September 12, 2016 Super User Posted September 12, 2016 I attended a memorial service this morning at 0641 hours at Cowlitz #2 Fire and Rescue. We remember. Thank you Raul. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 12, 2016 Global Moderator Posted September 12, 2016 I remember, I was in high school, 1st period of the day. I was in American History class ironically enough. Our teacher got a phone call and I remember the color draining from his face. He turned the TV onto the news and we sat and stared in complete silence for what seemed like an eternity. I've never felt that mad and confused at the same time in my life. I was ready to sign up that day, but was still a few years away from being old enough to. 15 years later the confusion is gone, but the anger is still very real. 2 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted September 15, 2016 Super User Posted September 15, 2016 I remember it like it was yesterday.I had gone to drop off some equipment in a neighboring county. On the way back I stopped to get a coffee for the ride back.At the store it was on the TV.The first tower had been hit.I thought that was strange and how did a pilot mess up and hit a tower like that when its so obvious. I drove back into the outskirts of town and stopped to pick up something for the boss.Right after I walked in and was talking about it with the girl worker,we watched the 2nd one hit live. Then we realized what had really happened and I got real mad and wanted to go join up but I was too old. I decided on that day terrorism will not control my life.Im not going to change what I do or my beliefs because of it. Quote
