Has anybody had any experience with the Daiwa RG-AB? I've looked around the internet and it seems like nobody has anything to say about it. Looks solid and I'm very close to buying it.

Don't have one, but the RG-AB's been discussed a lot on threads here as a viable contender to dethrone the Pflueger President as the 'go-to' $50-60 spinning reel.

I'm sure if you jump on it, you'll have no issues.

What would you like to know?  I have owned a couple since they were released.   I have left a few comments in other threads regarding the same or similar subject.

I have always promoted Pflueger as the leader in cost to value spinning reels, and I own many from the Limited to the Patriarch they are all very nice spinning reels and I have never regretted the purchase of a Pflueger spinning reel.    I recently purchased a RG-AB and have used it on a few occasions catching multiple fish in the  3-4 lb range.  The performance has been spot on perfect and I have truly enjoyed using it, so much so that I purchased a second and have used it also.

I support Pflueger and will continue to do so, but this new reel from Daiwa is every bit the equivalent if not better at the same price than the President.

If it were me I would go with the Daiwa, but I can tell you that you would not regret the purchase of the President either.

I needed to update the information for my insurance agent so I took a few pictures.

Mainly what I was worried about was longevity, of course these reels haven't been out long I just wanted to get a general idea of how they hold up compared to the president's. I've always preferred daiwa over other brands and was hoping their quality hasn't flushed down the toilet like other brands in this price range have. Ive had a Daiwa regal long cast since they came out, let's hope this one is the same way.
