An Outdoor Guy Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 So I use mostly braid to a fluoro leader and sometime straight fluoro. I tie on my favorite lures and the hook them on the bait holder on my rod. It's been about a week of my rods sitting because work has been heavy and today I noticed when I took my bait off the holder the fluoro line has a bend in it. I ran my fingers over it and I can feel the "bump" from where it was bent over my rod tip. Is this line trash now? Sorry for such a noob question but I don't want to lose a fish or my lure because of it. should I cut it off where the bend is and tie on a new leader? Quote
Super User Scott F Posted September 10, 2016 Super User Posted September 10, 2016 Why take a chance that the line may be damaged? Cut the 5 or 6 feet of line off and re-tie. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted September 10, 2016 Super User Posted September 10, 2016 Cut below the kink in the line and retire your bait.Line is cheap and you don't want to use your future pb on something as simple as line failure . Quote
bigturtle Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 i always have kinks from the bend at the tip, i dont care. havnt had that part fail yet Quote
