I've had bullfrogs go after my frog in the lilies before, but I have never actually hooked one.

You must not have casted near one very often.

 

we used to target them with scum frogs to get them for supper.  They will literally eat anything you throw next to them.

I once caught one on a scum frog that had a red-winged blackbird in its mouth.

Caught one on a senko last year, overcast and landed the senko on the bank.  Saw something grab it but had no idea what it was til I got it next to my canoe.

got one on a torpedo cast next to lillies once, put it on a weightless hook and caught a 5+ with it.

yup, it's easy to replicate every year in June/July/August.  work ur frog close to the shoreline where they sit and get out the hot sauce.

Yes, just the other day, and almost everytime I fish a hollow body frog. They're very territorial.

YEA actually had one hit my pad crasher a couple weeks ago. As soon as he hit and I set the hook I said that's not a fish and reeled him in.

It's hard to keep the frogs away in the spring... and they are faster than you think.

i once had accidentally cast over a tree branch with a rat and was yo yo'ing it up and down trying to free it when a frog (which I hadn't seen prior to this) leaped up vertically about a foot to try to grab it.  Fortunately, it missed but it scared the begezus out of me.

We used to go just for frogs with a small piece of red cloth and a treble hook from an old flat bottom boat.

I cannot throw a black frog on one of the local lakes I fish.  I soon as I start working the bait back in the bullfrogs will come after it.
