Good spinning rod around 80$

Hi guys, I'm looking to find a nice spinning rod to pair with the Lews tournament metal speed spin I'm ordering and I'd like to keep the combo around 150$. I'm mainly throwing senkos and shakey heads so I want something real sensitive. I like the look of the shimano sellus and convergence, the Daiwa Aird X, and the St.Croix Triumph, are these good rods? Or should I go up to a mojo bass or something?

Do yourself a favor if you can.  Stretch that $80 to $95 and get the 7' MF Aetos from Fenwick's website.  It is a $180 rod that I'm pretty sure will blow away the rods you mentioned.  I don't know if shipping is free.

FFO has the 7' Veracity (a $150 rod) for $79.  Shipping should be free.  It was for the $75 rod I bought from them.

ill look at those but this deal on the Croix is mighty enticing

My $75 Aetos was free shipping.  My $59 HMG was $9.60 shipping.  Both from FFO.

I'd look at the aetos or tatula for sure if you can swing the extra money but if not the daiwa tatula xt rods on flea bay are pretty darn good rods as well for the money for 80 bucks! The rod feels pretty close to the regular tatula I think it just has different guides but not 100% sure on that. If you like the aird rods, this is a definite step up from those and I personally feel it's  better than the old mojo bass or premier rods built on sc2. The sc2 Croix rods for me personally are solid rods for the price as far as build quality and durability (especially the us made premier), but they don't really feel as sensitive as the tatula xt, *** black, *** green, or some other rods in the price range. Don't get me wrong the Croix is a great deal too, but if you could spend another 20 like you indicated in the thread title then I think the tatula xt is a crisper, more sensitive feeling blank and it's a rod that costs well over what it sells for online

Some good rods in that price range are the Fenwick HMG and HMX and the Shimano Clarus.

The Berkely Lightning Rod and Lightning Rod Shock are even cheaper (usually under $50) and great rods for the money. That'll save you some money for other gear.

If you live near a Cabelas, definately check out the Cabelas Tournament ZX rods. I have St. Croix rods ranging from the Triumph to the Rages. The SC2 blank used in the Triumph is nothing to brag about. It's a bit on the heavy side and not very sensitive.

The Tornament ZX is crazy light and crazy sensitive. Not just for the money but period. I can say that it is twice as sensitive as the Triumph, at least in my hands. Plus, it's on sale right now for $80. I now have 5 of these rods, including the shaky head model. It works very well for the techniques you would like to use it for.

Of the rods you listed and the methods you intend to use I would say the Shimano Sellus is a great choice. For what you want to use it for I would choose the worm and jig model. I love the extra fast action on those rods.

I have a St Croix premier and that is a great choice in the ML fast action for Senko fishing.

Can't go wrong with a Fenwick Eagle on the lower end of your price range or a Shimano Clarus on the higher end.
