2017 BassResource Road TripĀ

Jack Yate's Classic on Toledo Bend Reservoir

3/15/17 - 3/20/17

As with all previous Road Trips, everyone is invited, novice or pro.Ā  You do not need a boat to attend.Ā  There are always seats available.Ā  Further, women are encouraged to attend with their significant other, or you are welcome to attend alone.Ā  Ladies are always treated as ladies on these trips.

The only difference between these and previous Road Trips is that they are now "unofficial."Ā  Glenn and Keri may or may not attend.Ā  There will be no sponsor giveaways, nor Pro speakers.Ā  Regardless, it will be the annual opportunity for many of us regular attendees to renew old friendships and, most importantly to establish new ones.

Ā

I would appreciate your comments before I finalize any plans.

Common Questions

Ā

Who is invited?
Everyone!

How does fishing work during the trip? Are we all on our own, do members pair up? Share patterns? The lake is pretty big. Do we all launch at the same time in the morning as a group or everyone do their own thing?
To begin with, this is not a tournament. It's just a bunch of folks who enjoy the fishing and camaraderie. Everyone does their own thing when fishing. They launch when they want and where they want. As for pairings, every evening we do our best to pair everyone up for the next day. NO ONE is left standing on the bank.

How does lodging work, do we tell you if we require a room? Do we get paired up for rooms with other members?
It is the responsibility of each individual to arrange their own accommodations. We have blocked 6 Rooms for BR members, but reservations must be made by you. The block will be removed January 31st, so unreserved cabins may not be available after that date.Ā  Stay active on the Road Trip forum and post from time to time that you are looking for a roommate. It always works out.

Do i need to bring a boat?Ā Ā Ā

NO, you do not need a boat.Ā  Everyone is welcome, and everyone fishes!Ā  We hold random drawings (see schedule above) to pair boaters/non-boaters up.

Perhaps this a dumb question, but are these the only two for 2017? I only ask because they're both located awfully south.

Not a dumb question.

As far as I know......the annual road trip has always been down south.

2 years agoĀ the annual road trip was Toledo Bend......it was such a great time we decided to make it an annual trip in addition to the 'regular' trip.

Well, If you have room one day, I would like to reserveĀ a seat in your boat.

Also, can you recommend a couple of guides I can call to schedule for the trip?

It will be good to visit with friends again.Ā  It will be a different lake without the grass. Very little to be found anywhere.

As of right now, my plan is to attend during the dayĀ with my dadĀ and stay at our place a bit south of fin & feather.

However, I think I talked at least 2 (probably 4) of my friends into attending as well. They would all share one room at fin & feather. None have a boat. So I guess ideally they'd pair up and tag along with someone if there are people who don't mindĀ fishing 3 from their boat. Idk how yall would work that out.

This trip looks awesome and I may be able to make it... But it's one heck of a drive from PA. Ā Does anyone ever fly for these? Ā Anyone have experience flying 1 piece rods?
