.... you have waited an hour in your truck listening to podcast waiting on the rain to die so you can go put the kayak in and go chase lunkers.

I would expand on this a bit.....you were the last one off the lake as you watched the storm roll in because it turned the bite on and only went in when you saw the lighting flash and THEN listened to the podcast and were GLAD the other people that were also on the lake left because when the rain quit...(Which you knew it would)...you had the lake all to yourself because one of the guys that was there before was in your honey hole and when you went to it after the rain they were SLAMMIN!!!  Not that this very specific situation has ever happened to me in the last 3 weeks!

That's a good one!Where do I begin to describe my fondness of bass fishing...here's a couple that show I might like bass fishing a little too much;

1.I have fished countess times in unsafe weather conditions because I had a "feeling" I was going to get a big bite.Got rained on more days doing this than I caught biggin's,but it was worth all the trouble.I don't do this anymore though.

2.I have drove +5 hours one way(+10 hour drive time) to go bass fishing on several occasions, with one of those trips on the same day.Caught several bass over 24 inches on this day and my better half was with me on each of these long distance trips.

3.I have gone bass fishing in areas that most people won't go to since you have to be surrounded by big alligators. You have to walk though the swamp to get here, and it's a long walk in the middle of nowhere. Haven't done this trip in years, but man is that place loaded with fish!

4.I had a close friend of mines get very upset with me one day since I didn't want to join him every single weekend in his boat to do offshore fishing for kings, dolphin, wahhoo, snapper, grouper, and other types of tasty fish.He said that he didn't understand why I was wasting my time with bass.I explained to him how challenging it is to catch big bass from land and he couldn't care one bit for it.I have gone fishing with him for years and he still thinks bass fishing is a waste of time.Oh well, guess I might be a little too fond of bass fishing.

I find ice fishing cold and boring. I'm interested in the giant pike and muskies people pull through the ice on a couple local lakes but I'll just look at the pictures when people brag at work. I enjoyed it as a kid but I'm not a fan of winter anymore. I can drink beer in my warm house instead of a frozen creaky tundra.

I also once wade- fished a bass tournament in gator infested waters. No, I didn't win.But didn't have to wrestle with wally either.

And sofla,My son is the big saltwater man in the family ( He does commercial and recreational fishing)He is also good at bass fishing but I can tell he just doesn't get why I love bass fishing so much .He would much rather be saltwater fishing.I love doing it too, esp.inshore, but if I could only do 1 kind of fishing it would be bass.Cant explain it but that's it.

I don't know... a heavy daily user of heroine costs about 28,000 a year. I just checked my check book and uh....

My name is rob, I am a bass fisherman and I need help. I have been sober since 3pm tomorrow, and am trying to become sober. But, just so we are on the same page, I do plan to relapse over the next few weekend, but then in late November I will stop, I swear. And then I may relapse again in February for a while. Buy seriously guys I want to make it clear that I want to sober and know that I will always be an addict........

Most of my friends are like your son, they are good at bass fishing but don't care much for it,they much rather go saltwater fishing. Two of the main reasons I enjoy bass fishing so much is that it's very convenient to fish for bass(there's hundreds of lakes, ponds, and canals down here ) and that bass fishing from land is a good type of exercise, especially if you are fishing for several hours.

You may be addicted to bass fishing if you're checking the weather forecast in the middle of February (for us northerners) as if you'd be able to toss a line in.

You may be addicted to bass fishing if you spend your time when not actually fishing by:

A. buying fishing gear

B. Organizing fishing gear

C. Planning the next fishing trip

D. Scouting a new location

I'd venture to say that my fishing habit is more expensive than an 80s rocker's drug habit. Just not as self-detrimental.:)

You're addicted to fishing when you walk into Walmart for groceries and always leave with something from the fishing department..

When the word "bass" isn't the subs in your car.

When you favor gas stations that sell bait

You cringe when you hear about a birds nest

You speak in codes.  "We really nailed them slabs last night " your buddy knows but your girlfriend doesnt.

The tug is the drug man.

Peace.

When you see water and you just think "bass!!!!!" I never pass a body of water, whether it's a tiny urban creek or a huge lake, without wanting to throw in a line.

Twice recently my wife has picked our son up from school and taken him to Walmart for her weekly grocery shopping trip.  I get off work at 5, and usually come to pick him up so he's not stuck at the store bored and annoying my wife while she shops with his tweenage sighs of boredom.  Both times, I've stopped at Walmart, found them, said hi and then, "Hey, I'm heading over the the fishing stuff for a couple minutes before we go."  It always ends with me coming back to groceries with a handful of things, throwing them in the buggy, and taking my son on home.  And somehow I still don't have everything I feel like I need. LOL

After checking the mailbox, you dump the Victoria's Secret catalogue in the trash on the way into the house ...but you can't wait to see what's in the cabelas or bass pro flyer.

Nah. I like her, she can stick around. Plus, she knows how much fishing means to me and often accompanies me. ;)
