In a bout of stupidity years ago I sold my Shimano Bantams. Now I have a Penn 920 levelmatic I got from a family member. It is in good shape, but it seems to wind backwards.  I can't see a way to correct this unless I take the thing apart and I'm willing to do that if there is a way to correct this.

sounds like the anti reverse arm is either stuck out or broken altogether.

Not sure about that, since it won't wind the other way,  the way I expect it to, just the backwards way, turning the crank handle towards my body.  Maybe the anti reverse arm is in backwards. I plan to take it apart shortly and see.

the pawl on the anti reverse can get stuck up causing it not to engage. am familiar with this reel, use one for light saltwater fishing.

After more investigation, the reel would be fully functional if I was left-handed. I'm hoping I can switch it over.
