well first off ill say that as far as a soft plastic brand i love YUM.well this past week i went to get more of them at gander mtn but couldnt find the right color.so i grabbed another color i liked and a pack of zookm worms in a similar color to what i was looking for.when i opened them up i noticed that the zoom worms didnt seem to be made wtih as much quality as the YUM worms were. any thoughts?

The only Yum I've used is the Dinger, which is fine. I've used a few more Zoom products and never noticed any quality problems.

the only real problem i notice are that the worm is extremely skinny and doesnt even seem big enough to run a hook through compared to other worms me an my uncle use(he uses berkley)...while im sure they may catch fish it seems that because of their size they may not atract as many and also may rip, break, etc if it gets caught on a branch or if the bass or bluegill hit the tails

Zoom makes about 100 different worm styles, from finesse to creature baits.  I'm know they make baits that can handle just about any size hook.  Do yourself a favor and try a different style from Zoom, you will not have an issue with quality.

What kind of worms were the zoom ones? Some are simply skinnier than others.

they were the "u tale"style worms and im comparing the to YUM ribbontail worms

The u-tails are skinny. That's one of the reasons that I love them! I use nothing but Zoom. They also taste pretty good with all the added salt! :o

Hmm...

What's a Zoom?

Gary Yamamoto Bait Company (GYCB) makes the Senko and a number of other soft plastics.

That's all I use.   8-)

I Like Zooms they have all you really need .... between Pros and amatuers fisherman/women i think they prob hold records with most widley fished plastic on earth.hall of fame lure if u ask me  if you think your u tale is too skinny buy the gator tail same lenght but way  thicker IMO they work better for me then GYCB baits but then again maybe im fortunate seems all my life i have fished places where fish were aggressive 97% of the time

I try to give every lure an equal opportunity, but I must admit that "Zoom" dominates the clear majority of my lure arsenal.

It's amazing to me how one company can produce so many top-flight lures:

> Zoom Horny Toad

> Zoom Brush Hog

> Zoom Fat Albert

> Zoom Super Fluke

> Zoom Critter Craw

> Zoom Trick Worm

> What Next?

i love zoom that is all i use on my t rig i like zoom because they are cheap and have lots of styles and colors but they are softer and tear up as easier than other plastics but seems since there softer fish bite them better but thats just my opinion and what ive found

Funny, but Zoom is pretty much all I use. Price is reasonable and they catch fish. Can't argue with that.

I do think they need to come out with a Senko knock-off though. When they do I'll ship a pack to roadwarrior. ;D

They did.

zoom, zoom ,zoom!!!!!!!

the thing that makes the u-tails so good is that they are skinny.same w/ the trick worm and the mag II.and some of the other ones also, but they make some fatter baits for different seasons.about the only bait i dont like from zoom is the z-nail,i have friends that swear by them ,but the shape is funny to me ,but thats what they like about them.i to wish they would make a senko type bait and also a speed shad.

I use all Zoom because GYCB has failed to create a soft plastic frog.  If they did i would be ordering a whole bunch of GYCB! but no frogs. I really like the Ikas though  :o
