My new favorite is Daiwa J braid. It's smooth,quiet, and cheap. I fish it along side of regular power pro,pp ss8, and 832. None have failed me and they all perform.

Don't have a lot of experience with braid on casting reels, just a frog rod and a couple of odd and ends type stuff.   I have used Vicious, PP, 832, and FX2, of those that I have experience with I preferred the FX2

Seaguar Smackdown is perfectly uniform and slick:. Sufix 832 would be my second choice.

been using Gamma torque braid , very soft like samuri  and also been using 832 , but just spooled up some Sunline SX1 and i love it !! doesn't get fuzzy like power pro or get somewhat sticky like the 832 . think i'm gonna get a few more spools as this braid has all the attributes i've been looking for , if you haven't tried it yet , you might want to give it a try

832 for me.  I tried the Power Pro SS8 and *hate* it - very prone to wind knots for me and once you get a wind knot on that line you pretty much have to cut it off.

you really ought to try out some different brands of braid !!! power pro was the best 10 years ago , now there are many braids that have left it behind . power pro gets fuzzy and picks up silt , debris , and a good amount of water on the line ! i know your hand gets soaked when you palm your reel !!! try some 832 , SX1 or SX2 or even some Smackdown , get with it  Wayne

I've never found any reason to switch from Spiderwire, I do like the Stealth better than the original though. I'm sure the other brands are great, but like I said just never had a reason to switch.

I don't use much braid.  I think Sufix Performance is a very good low cost option.  I liked it better than the PowerPro Original that replaced it.  I like Samurai for what little time I have used it.  Probably should put some braid on another reel of two.  Smackdown is sounding like a good braid to try.  I've got some 30# 832 Ghost that came on an Alphas F.  So far it has handled very well.  Color doesn't fade either.

Sunline FX2. The 50lb is thinner than any of its competitors, it keeps its color the best by far and it's incredibly strong.

Haven't used many,  only suffix 832 and power pro. 

Between the two I'm liking the 832

I'm calling a tie between 832 and P-line X. 

I just started using FX2 this summer for my topwater/frog needs and I've been really impressed. All three of these lines are great.

i think Sunline got it right , line does not fuzz , super thin but very strong ! i'm using SX1 in 10 lb. and it's working great .

i just spooled some 20 lb. 832 on my baitcaster last week , seriously thinking of changing it out for 30 lb. SX1 .....

really not interested in trying the new TX & BX lines , as i don't like coatings  on the line that stick , like 832 seems to do .

Hey everyone, Was called Stren Sonic Braid, smooth as silk and holds knots very well. 20lb size is 6lb mono diameter. They relabeled the box but the new Green and Black boxed  Stren Braid is same exact line. Walmart sells it $12.00 for 330 yd spools. Oh in Lo-vis Green color. Spool up and cast away, bird nest free fishing.
