Travis Gasper Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I finally got my hands on the Double Plopper. Now my only question is how I want to tie it on. Direct tie, swivel, split ring? I think I'll be throwing it with my medium heavy Abu Garcia Pro Max and 50lb braid since I'm gonna work it through pads. Thoughts? Quote

I also hope this lure can stand up to punishment, because it comes with a hefty $$ tag. Fingers crossed a bow fin (mudfish) doesn't get its jaws on it. Quote

I've never really considered any baits "gimmicks" except for the ones on infomercials lol. If it catches me fish, it's worth the money. We'll find out soon enough! 1 Quote

Molay1292 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I purchased one a while back in the powder color. I have the regular W.P. in the same color and have caught several fish on the 130. When I used the Double W.P. I was a little disappointed with the way the lure ran in the water, if running the lure anything but slow it tended to lean to one side and leave the other blade not touching the water, not sure if I can adjust it somehow. I did not catch anything that outing on the D.W.P. but I did have a couple of blowups so I feel confident in it's ability to produce fish. Not sure just yet when it may be a better choice over the regular W.P. but I am sure that more time with the bait will give up some clues. Interesting bait 1 Quote

I'm curious to see how it runs plain, and with a trailer on it. I'm happy to see it comes with a bait holder on the hook. I'm thinking a small chartruese curly tail grub would look awesome on this particular one. 1 Quote

I have heard they have great action, but you have to fish it super slow or it wont run correctly. I have also read that they are not durable. I haven't used one, but I have heard from a bunch of sources and I am very hesitant to buy one. Quote

YoTone Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 ive had fun days with mine. its just so fragile that after i brushed it against a tree limb it took forever for me to get it to swim perfect. runs nicely over areas where a regular plopper would get pick up too much milfoil and hydrilla.
