Firefish Alumacraft Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 True Story, 4 years ago on our family fishing trip at Lake Shelbyville (house boat rental and Ive been there for 3 days 2 nights already . At the time I owned a small 14ft Lowe 10hp and I had a nice cove 100x25ft with nice stumps and great cover for SM/LM. It was about 8am and a fancy bass boat with 3 guys 1 pro fisherman 1 camera guy and ref come flying in creating a large wake along with 3-6 other guys in boats watching him fish from 300ft back. That Pro felt like he owned the cove and started to try and push us out, after circling us 2 times and almost running into us trying to get us to leave I got fed up took the paddle and started to slap the water and make as much sound as I could. He left, i left and went back to the house boat to nap. I hate when some one feels like their entitled to cove 1 Quote

Nice of that bass to tell you his exact weight. I am assuming this is the infamous bass that broke the new 8lb leader in the middle, meaning that it had to weigh more than 8 lbs. I wonder what the breaking point of the knot was? Quote

An Outdoor Guy Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Keep up the good work on teach him proper fishing manners Things to add would be: - Don't throw soft plastics/line in the water (common sense) - Don't be shouting/loud/stomping around (also common sense) - Don't hit the trolling motor until you have checked with the other angler in the boat (my biggest pet peeve) -like you said in your OP, tell him to stop with the "ugh" thing. that really does annoy me to. but that is something he will learn in time. grab a jig and take him out and let him learn what things feel like before he goes around setting the hook into nothing. even though they are free, 100 hook sets and 0 bass can make you look pretty stupid to your fishing partner.
