Fishing Trick Worms

how are you supposed to fish trick worms? I have been fishing them weightless but am not sure if its supposed to be on the bottom or floating. Is this also called the floating worm?

I fish them weightless on a gammy 3/0 offset worm hook on 12lb line. nothing less or it will sink really fast but if you need the worm to be worked w/ the weightless action but deeper use lighter line.

Fishing them weightless gives the lures a great action in the water. They should have a slow fall through the water column. They dart and fall randomly, looking like a dying animal that bass cant resist. Keep fishing them weightless Thomson, you will have good results.

I fish them weightless with a 2/0 wide gap hook on 12 lb test line. I cast out and let it sink for a couple of seconds. I then give the worm a couple of twitches and then pause for a couple of seconds. I then repeat. I start out twitching the worm pretty fast close to the surface basically like a jerkbait. If that doesn't draw strikes, I'll increase the length of the pauses between twitches letting the worm sink deeper into the water before twitching. The only colors I fish are bubblegum (clear water) and black (stained/muddy water).

Summertime they are great on a weighted T-rig and C-rig too.Some reason Black is my best color...One of my fav. carolina rig baits...

Dont fish them weightless unless i have to. I use 8lb braid with leader.... Caught my PB 10.3 on a black zoom trick worm.

I fish them weightless on an owner straight shank.

I like to fish them on SpotSticker jigheads, wacky style with a 2/0 EWG Gam. hook, wieghtless, and C-riged and T-riged...

I fish mine with a 2/0 Mister Twister keeper hook, weightless tied with a loop knot, ora pegged 1/16th ounce lead weight.  The shaking technique works with the weight also. I find that shaking works better than rattles, one of the simplest things I ever did to increase my catch rate! Black seems to be the color of choice for everyone.

You've got many options with these baits.  My favorites:

1) on a splitshot rig, 1/32 or 1/16 oz bull shot with a 2/0 hook

2) on a shaky head jig

3) weightless Texas rig

4) weighted Texas rig

My favorite colors include watermelon gold, junebug, white, black and baitfish

I fish them texas weightless. I went out last week and cougkt 2 on the brightest color. I think that it is the realy bright pink color.

fish it on light line and keep it eratic and realistic. Nothing like seeing that bass come out and grab it.

I was fishing it by boat doicks and a 3 punder came right out and snatched it.

make sure you feel the bite. also if fish arn't biting then fish it wacky.

when fishing it wackey let the fish take it for like 3 sec.

I fish them in tight spaces by boat docks and fish them parel to reeds and under shady trees.

use spinning tackel and a stif rod.

Wacky Rigging these is the way to go, i have been wacky rigging these for years and now they are my go to bait. What i do is take a nail weight, insert it into the head, and use a 1/0 owner worm hook and rig it weedless in the center, it works wonders.

I fish mine either weightless or with a small split shot about 8-10 inches in front of it.
