Anyone remember this old Catfish bait?

Hey guys. Kinda have a little trivia question I guess. Ponds around here are really good for catfish in the fall, so I'm switching gears from bass. I decided I'd try this old bait I render seeing on YouTube. I went to research, but couldn't find it. This is what I remember. Some kids made this bait and supposedly caught a 99lb state record with it. The bait itself reminded me of a rubber eraser or sponge by what I remember it looking like, but I forget the name! Any help would be great.

Also, fall is a killer time for bass. I wouldn't totally change gears, anywhere that gets snow those bass will be feeding up this fall to make it through the winter. So Get you one of them pigs this fall too !

Catfish aren't picky and there's certainly no magic bait. If you look through most examples of the really big catfish that are caught, a vast majority are caught on live or freshly cut natural baits. Prepared baits account for a lot of smaller fish, but rarely a big fish. I'd choose your bait according to which you're wanting to pursue.

I have used both the strawberry and mulberry with pretty good results on smaller lakes and ponds. Haven't ever caught a carp on it, but have caught some eater sized channels.

The only bait I can think of is Bee-Jay.  I have not seen a jar of that in years.

The best catfish bait I've ever used in ponds for big cats is cut bluegill for blues and channels, and live bluegill for flatheads. Chicken livers catch a lot, but I always catch the big ones on cut bait
