Hi - welcome to Bass Resource.

I believe our resident sonar expert (Wayne P.) has that HDSI transducer mounted on the bottom of his trolling motor. I'm not sure WHICH model TM he has but he should be along shortly to chime in....

I just went out and measured my HDSI 'ducer and it's about 6" long so that's how much space you need on the bottom of the TM. Do you already have the Edge TM?

Yes I have the Edge trolling motor mounted.  If the transducer won't fit I'll mount it some other way.

Thanks,

Bill

I have mine on a Motor Guide Tour.

Goose is correct that you need at least 6" between the skeg and prop.

This is that transducer with the Humminbird mount for a trolling motor:

This is the only picture I have of similar Edge type motor and it has the Transducer Shield and Saver for a Humminbird Down Imaging transducer that is 4 3/4" long. You can see the front hose clamp is not long enough to go over the shaft housing.

The larger one is the Humminbird Compact SI trolling motor puck that is 4" long and may be a better choice if you do not have the 6" space plus the clamp space:

Don't remember for sure, but I think Transducer Shield and Saver will modify the TM-HDsi mount for the HDSI transducer so it clears the prop collar. Call and ask.

I contacted Transducer Shield and Saver already and they ask me to take some measurements.  I'm at my daughter's place now in Boston. MA and won't be back home to Oklahoma for a couple of weeks.  I'll get it done when I get home.  Helping her out with carrying for her newborn daughter.

Minn Kota told me there is 6 inches between the prop and the skeg.  Just don't know yet if I can make it work.  May have to look for an alternate way if I keep this transducer.

Thanks Wayne and Goose52.

Guys with the Lowrance Total Scan transducers have been cutting off the skeg.

Don't now if I am brave enough to try that.

I have a .PDF file from Transducer Shield and Saver that shows what measurements they need but can't get it to load here.

I posted a comment about that picture on the other forum where you posted it.

I saw it.  Thought I would share it in case it may help someone else.

By the way thanks for all your help!!

These measurments are for my Minn Kota Edge 70 ft. lb. motor.
Measurement "A" is 13 5/8" and measurement "B" is 6 3/4".
The propeller and skeg are on different ends of the motor.

Based on these measurements and the fact that the Nose/Cone is higher than housing they recommended the following:
1.  TM-HDSI-S  $ 79.95
2.  2 HDTS- 3 1/2 Straps   5.95 ea.
3. Strip  $8.95

So - it looks like you will be able to use that HDSI transducer after all. Good deal !

I have about 70 hours on my Helix 10 now with that transducer and the difference in side-imaging resolution/quality is very noticeable compared to the Compact SI transducer that I had been using on my 798.

I used a HDSI transducer with the 798ci SI Combo I used to have. BIG improvement.
