What's your fishing glasses preference?

Looking to get a new pair of fishing glasses but can't decide. Looking to spend $75-$100. Im 6'1 280 and a big head lol. 

What's your favorite?

Ive fished with $150 polarized Oakleys and $20 polarized glasses Ive gotten at Kmart.  While the Oakleys were slightly better, I dont think they justify the difference in the price for fishing glasses.  All the time outside wear I'd say go for it.  I do like Smith Optics, but again...I cant justify spending that money on glasses im just going to fish in.

I wear Costa Cat Cay's with the 580G lens. The color and clarity in these blows a low end, plastic lens away. 

With your budget, I'd check out the Strike King S11's. That's what I wore prior to my Costa's, and they were the best I could find in the ~$50 range.

For the money the Strike King S11 glasses are nice. You can get Costa hammerheads with the 580P lense brand new for about $115.

I recently invested in Costa 580P sunrise lenses. Great glasses for early morning or low light conditions. They are great all day on cloudy days.

SK S11's for me in the amber color. The pair I have is from when these glasses first came out 4-5 years ago, and I have worn them EVERY DAY,  and are still fine. Not bad for $40

I've been wearing Strike King S11 glasses the last couple years. I had a gray lens and then bought an amber lens. I preferred the amber. Only thing I didn't like was the coating started to wear off the lens after a year, but maybe that's normal for this price range?

Amber lenses seem to be best in most conditions.  Better lenses do make a difference, but you can find quality sunglasses on a budget.  I wear Ray Ban aviators pretty much all the time and love them, but you can get quality glasses on sites like Sierra Trading Post without dropping $150+ on Ray Bans, Oakleys, Costa, etc..

I have 2 pair of strike king s11's.  I also have a pair of Hobie's and a pair of solar bats.  I much prefer the sk's. 

I am about to get 2 more pair of the sk's.  I want smoke lenses.  Then a pair for daily wear.  I will not daily wear my fishing ones as I am don't want to chance scratching them.

Strike King S11.also have wiley-x,costa. but use the strike kings the most. they fit my fat head better.

I like $20 Calcuttas in amber. I've owned 3 pairs. I'm bad to leave stuff in restaurants and it's better to throw away $20 than $100-200. They look like $100 glasses and ppl will walk off with them, thinking they are. These glasses are light and the lens quality, specifically for fishing, is much higher than your average $20 sunglasses. Honestly, I don't know how they provide such quality for so cheap. I've paid a lot more for glasses that weren't this good for fishing.

If I were to spend big $$$ on glasses now, I'd be looking for some with reader lenses in the bottom. It's getting hard for me to see to tie knots, but I can still see a mile away.

I wear polarized Oakley glasses. Can't justify using them besides there an old extra pair I've had for 7 years.

I have costa 580p lenses, green mirror. Excellent, Light weight, all day comfort.  Prior to these I had the O brand for two years. They were nice, but I'm blown away by the Costa!  

Certainly worth the money..

My advice: 

Go to a store (Bass Pro, cabelas, sunglass hut, etc) and try on as many pairs as you can!  I have a big noggin too,  it was a challenge finding a pair that fit right.. but now I have a quality pair of glasses that are comfortable all day long.

I have these and I actually like them a lot.  You see these guys advertise in magazines and, admittedly, their stuff looks pretty cheesy but these are really nice and the polarization is very good.  My Mother bought them for me for Father's day and I was like...Oh boy..these are gonna suck.  But they don't.

I have a ten year old pair of Oakley Monster Dogs, that have survived being knocked off my head at least 200 times when I was still coaching football. They are great for those of us with pumpkin heads, and are great for fishing. They cost me $155, but I wear them almost every day.

Anyone use bi-focal sunglasses?  Didn't know they existed, but sounds like a great idea.  Like these?

If you are talking bifocal readers I have some that I use to read on the beach. The problem is... when I look up to... say... judge this years women's beach wear for instance... the reader portion is right where I want to look for distance. I've used a few different brands and have settled on Onos.

IMO better than the Box Store off the rack jobs and are available in various styles, lenses and reader powers; but do cost more.

Worth it though.

As a guy who wears glasses every day, polarized prescription sun glasses are a must for me.  Every few years I need to get a new pair.

$100 doesn't start to touch how much these cost..  Think closer to $500 and now you're in the ball park.   Of course they are no line bifocals with scratch guard and whatnot..   I tired for a couple of weeks going fishing without they and using  a clip on style or the cacoon style over glasses, but they aren't that comfortable for me.   If you're using these glasses on the water, be sure and invest in a glasses strap.

I have Cocoons that fit over my regular glasses and have the eyeglass holders so they dont fall in the water.  I use amber color as a good all around to see into the water and helps with bright sunny days.  Cost for the Cocoons was around $50.

I wear Oakleys- flak jackets. I've heard good things about costas but I haven't felt the need to switch. Outstanding polarization and clarity, there is a lens for every type of situation, and not to mention it stopped a flying piece of shrapnel from entering my right eye. 

I suggest buying a good pair and then protecting them by soft sleeve or case whenever possible.

I use Costa Del Mar 580 Silver Lens with "Copper Tinted Lens". Cost around $239.00, not exactly the cheapest sun glasses on the market. Cost around 66 cents per day. The bass will "Stand Out" more amongst the lake floor and the "GREEN COLOR" of the fish is amplified much greater than other sun glasses. The "GREEN COLOR" of the fish is what alerts you of its presence...
