Lightweight rigs to try

I am waiting on my 15 alde and x4 rattle viper to come in the mail and I'm wondering about some cool new rigs from like 1/8-3/8 total weight to try out on it, I'm new to the finesse baitcasting stuff but I've always wanted to try it. 

So far in thinking neko rigs, small hair jigs, fat ikas and some shaky head stuff.

A plain old un-weighted wacky rigged senko has been deadly for me this year.

I use my aldebaran to throw all kinds of stuff. For something light though, you could try a weightless kut-tail worm rather than a senko.

This is one of my favorite methods of all time the kut tails are amazing, and I have dedicated drop shot and weightless senko rods. I have never fished a Ned rig, I'm gonna have to hunt the lead heads on some lil senkos out for that and try it. I'm also thinking I could throw flukes on it as well, but it may not have a good enough backbone for the hookset on those.

I may also try so small slider heads with like tiny flukes or shad shaped worms

Slider Jig heads with the Original Brewer 4" Paddle tail finesse worms, or a 3" Thin Gitzit tube in a baitfish color. The Slider Jig heads can be really good with almost any bait.

I like the idea of the shad shaped worm. I am going to try that myself. The Slider Grubs work well also, or the Yum Warning shot, KVD dream shot...you get the idea. 

The lighter chatterbaits from 1/8 -1/4 can also be effective over grass, it seems everyone is focused on the larger 3/8 to 1/2 but the smaller versions can be very good, sometimes I use the cheap mini chatterbait minnow which comes in 1/16-1/4 and is usually 2.99. I always sharpen the hook since they are usually dull out of the package.

I really want to try that Smaller profile Molix Lover Jig, it looks awesome in the demo that Molix released at I cast. I really like the idea of a clear blade, smaller profile, and swing hook, the colors look fantastic as well, $10.99 just seems steep but I have to believe that it will be a nice change up. Anyone try it yet? Only 1 review on TW which is good.

small poppers, like the megabass pop x (1/4 oz) 

i was crushing the river bass last month on finesse spinnerbaits (1/8 or 1/4 oz) and also on the beetle spin with a grub bait.  was throwing that on a curado 51e i have set up for light stuff and using a phenix recon 2 683c.

I need to buy me some more 68s, I only

have 2. And I bought a couple pop x's last night to give a try. Hopefully my reel will be here early next week so I can give this a go.

I have also been having some fun messing around with the Neko rig too. When I'm wacky fishing, and I know there are fish there, I stick a 1/16th oz nail weight in the nose of my worm and shake it along the bottom. It just look a bit different to the fish, and on a few occasion has drawn strikes.

The original Charlie Brewer flat slider pro series jig.

The old school wacky rig has a swivel just like the photo and allows the worm to helicopter through the water without twisting your line. I have a fishing partner who fishes this rig for decades using a 1/8 oz bullet weight and drags along the bottom and catches lots of bass. I prefer a slip shot rig with a straight rigged worm, we both catch bass.

and I've never fished a mojo rig but I guarantee the next time the boats in the water I'm going to, looks like a very efficient finesse system and i dont know why I haven't tried it, surprising there aren't many videos on slider heads so I'm guess I'm going to have to experiment on how to fish those.

It's just a Trick Worm, don't know why the ends look curled.

The swivel stops line twist, adds weight for easier casting & makes for an interesting rate of fall!

No it does not helicopter on the fall, it falls horizontally!

I hook all my wacky worms like that for weedlessness

I use a 2/0 hook & stick a 1/2" paneling nail in the tail; it will fall horizontally!

I've always preferred kut tails for neko and wacky over trick worms. They just seemed to do better for me

The Mojo rig is the split shot rig with cylinder shape weight. I prefer the slip shot using a mojo weight and Carolina keeper to stop the weight.

Try the Charlie Brewer site for slider jig video's.

I also prefer a dart head jig in lieu of a slider, 1/8 dart head with 4 1/2" finesse curl tail worm using 6 to 8 lb FC line.
