No dude not exactly. I've caught bass on just about every color that comes on a crank bait. I was just saying what's "hot in Mexico" isn't necessarily "hot" up north.

Loosely mimic the hatch. That is why firetiger is so good up here, has a little perch, gill, and pumpkinseed all in one bait. Not sure how much of a shad base we have up north here in WI, guessing not much. Guessing shad baits work so well for you because um well you are matching the hatch;)

In waters of  West Virginia it is hard to beat any type of crawfish pattern.

These "match the hatch" guys are the same people who will painstakingly try to buy the most realistic swimbaits to festoon their A-rigs with.................never mind all those wires and  hooks.

Super duper realistic crankbait paint jobs catch fisherman............you can catch a bass on a corn cob if you put it in his face.
