LeChuck Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I am brand new to fishing and recently bought a fishing kayak to get more out of this wonderful hobby. I live within walking distance of Lake Allatoona and have gone out only a few times in the kayak. I've also kayaked rope mill to the blanket's creek waterfall with some small fishing success along the way. I don't have much of a clue when it comes to fishing, but I'm excited to learn. What tips do you guys have for fishing Allatoona in a kayak? Quote

Super User buzzed bait Posted August 24, 2016 Super User Posted August 24, 2016 100% agree with A Jay on the life jacket! not sure where you're at exactly, but i've launched around the kellogg creek ramp over there and fished that area a little bit, not a ton though. i did really well with the shakyhead/trick worm combo and a drop shot. a great place to go is lake acworth which spills over into allatoona. it's electric motors only so no big fast boats or pleasure boaters. and there's some really nice fish in there as well! just google cauble park, they have a nice ramp to launch from.
