northgabassfisher Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I got It about two weeks ago thats why I have not been posting a hole lot. I payed 10,000 its a 2003 Tracker turnament V-18, its got a 90 hp mercury on the back with less then 30hrs, a X52 on the front and humminbird xp2000 on the dash. it will do 47mph with a full tank of gas 2 adults and rods and reels. I desided to get it instead of gitting my first truck. I got to be the luckiest 16 year old. Quote
Riley Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Nice looking boat man! You ARE lucky! But, I had my 01 fisher when i was 17(now 19). Its only a 16' with a 50 but it'll do 39-40. But i had a truck as well. Just wait until you get some wheels. You'll have so much fun. congratulations! Quote
northgabassfisher Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 Riley I love my crucial rods I would recomend them to every one. but you can get a st.croix for just a little more and those are my favroites. Quote
DDH Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 not to brag or anything.. I've gotta 02 chevy s10 zr2 and a 19ft nitro w/ a 150... heres my truckhttp://www.freewebs.com/futurepro22/rides.htm Quote
Ben Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Nice boat but, aaahhhh, son, you need to get that thing out and go to using it, it's much too neat and organized. You need all the rods piled into one locker, all on top of each other and that other locker needs to be stuffed with everything but the kitchen sink, well maybe that too if you think it might be needed sometime. And that bait storage area, what's with that, need more holders cramed in there with extra spools of line and them what won't fit stuffed in the extra rod locker. Make that sucker look like it's a fishing boat. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 4, 2006 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 4, 2006 Nice!!! Very nice! I used to have a boat just like that, and it was great to have - such freedom! One bit of advice - it looks like the storage lockers aren't waterproof (common on aluminum boats). So switch out your Plano boxes for the waterproof type (the kind with the seals) and replace your tackle bag with a waterproof bag. I made the mistake of leaving my bag in my boat after enduring a heavy rainstorm. The next weekend I opened my storage box to find a big ......... furball !! OH what a mess that was to clean up, and it ruined my bag. A number of hooks also rusted because my plano boxes weren't waterproof. Just a tip. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 4, 2006 Super User Posted February 4, 2006 Nice boat but......Where does a 16 year old get $10,000 for a boat along with alot of very nice fishing equipment? At sixteen I got a Ambassadeur 5000 old red reel along with a rod at Christmas and thought I was living the highlife. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 5, 2006 Super User Posted February 5, 2006 He did say he is 16 didn't he ? I'M IMPRESSED. Quote
northgabassfisher Posted February 5, 2006 Author Posted February 5, 2006 well when you work at a bait and tackle shop the stuff just starts to comes home with you over the days. and can I put like wether strip down to stop the water from coming in to storge boxs. and a 16 year old gets $10,000 from a loan from the bank Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 5, 2006 Super User Posted February 5, 2006 Banks will loan a 16 year old 10 grand?? Geebus, that's crazy. Quote
northgabassfisher Posted February 5, 2006 Author Posted February 5, 2006 well its under my moms name so I realy did get out the loan she did, and im pay the bank back $250 a month Quote
Yankee_Bassman Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 That's a sweet boat....don't think the weatherstrip will work.....oh, and could you do me a favor? Would you ask your mom if she'd like to adopt me? Quote
Ben Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Can't say anything about him buying his boat at 16. I bought my first Brand New boat when I was 16. It was a 14' Glass Master with a 65 hp Merc. I paid $1,427 for it then, that would about the same as his $10K now. Oh! I had $600 and the bank loaned me the balance of the money without my parents signature. Helps when you live in a small town and the bank presidents knows you real well, I was dating his daughter. Besides, if you had a 16 year old son, would you rather he be spending his time on the lake fishing in his bass boat, or running the roads in his new pickup truck. Kind of a no brainer to me. Quote
jb_from_texas Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 congrats. very nice boat! oh to be young again. i just bought my first ever boat in septemeber and it's older than northgabassfisher himself, by 4 years at that. but i love it. especially the no payment part. have fun Quote
Upnorth Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Congrats! I got my first bassboat when I was 17. It was a Tracker TX-17. You are well on your way. Quote
Guest avid Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Very nice boat. don't matter how old you are. That's a rig anyone would be proud to own. Be safe, and have fun. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted February 10, 2006 Super User Posted February 10, 2006 North Georgia- Beautiful boat!!! I'm sure all of us hear can remember the pride you have right now when standing on the bow of our first boat, behide the wheel of our first car, and in my case (at your age), a street bike. Take care of your boat, and she'll take care of you. Tight lines-JB Quote
