Big-Bass Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I was at a local tackle shop that has a few Citica E reels left as new old stock items. They are on sale but what is considered a good price to pick these reels up for? Are they worth the purchase? Quote
lakeannaangler Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Probably around $100 or a little more Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted August 21, 2016 Super User Posted August 21, 2016 Eighty bucks. At 119.99 new and taking a third off, that's close. 1 Quote
blckshirt98 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 These sell used on eBay in good condition for $60-80. Does this place have any left handed Citicas and do they ship? Quote
Basswhippa Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Those reels are in demand and quite a few people believe they are the best value ever under $150 MSRP. 1 Quote
drew4779 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Awesome reel. What are they asking for them? I'd pay $100 for a new one. Quote
fisherrw Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I'd say right now they are worth around 80 or 90 bucks new. I bought a very lightly used lefty a while back for 60 bucks and like it not as good as my chronarch es but for the price it is a very solid reel... Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 21, 2016 Super User Posted August 21, 2016 Well that is a rare find. New they were $119. Tackle Tour did a review of the reel if you are wanting more info on them. If they are on sale I am guessing $100 or so? I would buy as many as you want for that price. I have one that I still use for reaction baits and love it. I paid $75 for mine in lightly used condition. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 22, 2016 Super User Posted August 22, 2016 The Citica E is a fantastic reel. Do you want them for resale or to use? You might get $90 if you try to sell them, probably not much more. Quote
Big-Bass Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 I am gonna use them...bought two already on sale and may buy two more tomorrow if they are available. Selling would only be an option if only if I felt needed in the future. Quote
Basswhippa Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Drop a bearing in the driveshaft and you have a reel that is comparable to the Chronarch E. The spool is heavier. Won't cast light lures as far as the Chronarch spool. Will cast heavier lures further. I have 6 of those. Sweet reels. Quote
Big-Bass Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I bought my two the other day and bought two more today. The store now has no more. But now I have buyers remorse since I bought four altogether. I listed two in the swap forum since I don't think I need four but whatever...if someone is looking for one or two of these reels, I have them NIB and still have some for me. Quote
